RebateWager no longer accepting new users

RebateWager (SBR rating B) will no longer accept new users. Management tells SBR the move will allow the sportsbook to focus on its active business. Existing RebateWager customers have historically reported positive feedback on customer service and payment time. RebateWager's unique offering was to give large rebates on losing wagers per week for players choosing the cash-back account setting. RebateWager tells SBR that the player registration change aside, it is business as usual.

How does not accepting new users allow them to focus more on their active business?

They have a good player base as is and can focus on providing high-level service to existing players. They have no need to be any bigger.

makes sense actually, its the slow season folks...baseball is a money loser for books mostly, too hard to profit with dime lines so offer to your known squares and avoid the unknown.

You still don't see books closing their doors to new players.
Common sense tells you this is a very odd move. Will follow this story.

Honestly, I think this is a good thing. They have a limit with the amount of bets they can take so that they don't go broke or anything bad like that. How can you see this as a bad thing? I'm sure during football season they'll take new clients.

Sharp post. Books have gone invite only off an on for years. RW I expect will stay this way.

They did the same thing last year IIRC. My guess is that things will open up again once NFL season starts up... still, I'm a little surprised they didn't wait until the NCAA tournament was over.

They have always said they would quit accepting players after a certain number was reached.

The bigger you are the harder processing is , and that is the biggest problem books face.

suspect would be if they were accepting new players and giving large bonuses

by not allowing new players can only be seen as a positive for the current clients

this also allows them to save some advertising $$$

no need to advertise if you don't want new players

                                      Bulls, Bears, Pigs

There is an old saying out there. Bulls make money, bears make money, pigs get slaughtered. In this business one must decide when enough is enough. For those of you reading my posts, some good, some bad for the last 5 years I've always said when he hit a number of new members we would go invite only. Well we hit those numbers and we are now and will be moving forward an invite only book. For those members that have been with us for the past 5 years nothing will change and we will continue with our open door policy with SBR.

How is baseball a money loser? There is nothing easier than managing lines for this sport...
And they still take 20c on RLs and totals, and 5innings...
a money loser would be not having baseball while other sports end, omfg some posts here just make me facepalm over and over and over.
