What is the secret to Pinnacle's success?
Is it their large customer base? Their sharp lines? Why is this book the most successful?

because they are not idiots, that limit a customer because he wins a $50 bet. they know in the long run they will "get" him. furthermore they "balance" their books by adjusting their lines, and making money out of the "juice" as all bookies are supposed to do.

Books are not idiots for limiting players,in fact, they are probably smart. 95% of books cant, and never will can operate like Pinnacle. That is why they are small books. For operate like Pinnacle they would need, like Lou said, VOLUME.And also important, volume on both sides of bet, and not like now, big books change odds quickly and without getting hurt(because they are big), and small books are attacked by steam chasers on only one side of the bet.

you have no chance at all of attracting volume if you a) limit players like most do and b) don't offer low juice odds

True, but as I said most books cant do that. And that places are already taken by pinny and the company. There is not enough money in betting world so that all books could have needed volume, and never it will be.It is perfectly normal that these small books exist, and that they defend themselves in that way.

Because they are NOT a sportsbook but a 2.5% options trading house

Indeed, Pinny are traders and they only hire the best guys.
But by now they easily make a lot of profit by just being a bookie as well, on games where they have no real opinions.

To the other guy, books are not idiots limiting players like 3.65 and all the other shitty UK books, if they have enuf stupid squares and weekend bettors.
They are not real sportsbooks, they just milk clueless people, and don't want to get involved into real bookmaking.
Obviously they won't attract many people who found this forum here, or are otherwise a bit more educated...but they don't care.
Still it's painful to see SBR giving them such high ratings, cos as i said these are not books.
