Would appreciate some thoughts on the below ..
A "Club Friendly" game of soccer took place over the weekend - with one winning 2-0.
All sports results sites mention the 2-0 victory.
The official website of one of the sides has a detailed report on the 2-0 victory.
Every single Sportsbook that carries a results service has graded it as a 2-0 victory ... except the one I placed a wager with (my wager was on the AH with 0.25 goal start)
That particular Sportsbook has voided the wager and when I queried it said their decision was taken because the match did not complete. It ended after 79 minutes instead of 90 minutes.
After literally spending hours trawling the internet and finding no evidence to support this (you would have thought that the official website report would at least reference the game ending early) I went back to the Sportsbook and asked where they got their information from and whether they could send me a link to anything on the Internet that supported their claim that the game ended after 79 minutes.
So far they are not playing ball and just repeat that their information has the game not ending properly and so under their terms they have cancelled the bet.
Now it could of course be that they are correct and that every other Sportsbook has graded this incorrectly (I checked and all of the other Sportsbooks have exclusion terms if the game does not run for 90 minutes).
Equally all of the results services could just be giving the final score at the time the game ended after 79 minutes - but again you would think that at least one of them would mention it.
So what do I do - what are my next steps? The Sportsbook involved is a very big player but has no presence here in SBR (although it is regularly mentioned). It's regulators are in IOM.
Do I keep arguing with Live Chat and e-mail and telephone until they either prove it to me or pay up - so far that approach is getting me nowhere
Do I approach their regulators and try to get them to force the Sportsbook to provide the evidence or pay up? We are not talking huge sums here - the payout would be approx $250
I'm tempted to telephone the club secretaries of the soccer clubs involved, but they are both in Finland and my Finnish is not brilliant
Thoughts?
