Bodog the good old days what happened
Anybody remember the the mighty bodog in 2004 and 2005 with thier standing 20 percent bonus on all deposits. Lightning fast payouts, excellent customer service.....geezzz how did they fall so far so fast ......really sad.

    How?

The US gov't passed a new law.

That's it, that's the whole story. If they could still process all their payouts in 30 minutes through Neteller they certainly would. They made a lot more money back then.

I believe the "how" he was asking is how BoDog was so much more affected by the law than other sites that still pay quickly and are relatively easy to get money in to. (I wasnt around in the netteller days, so that probably would change my definition of "easy")

Exactly, they were the "cadillac" of all the sites. Slick, quick, and just a great experience. How did they get hit so hard when the others seem to be surviving ok. Were they targeted harder in some way?

              1) Bodog has/had a ton of small customers so they have to process a ton of transactions (just like the sportsbook.com group that also has a ton of processor problems). More transactions are more difficult.

              2) Bodog has a target on their back from the US gov't and thus setting up the needed banking relationships is probably quite difficult right now.

....and Bodog told the US govt to go **** itself with its new law. Publically, repeatedly.

                That probably didn't help much.

                  I agree

I understand the gov thing, but why can't they get their act together like the other sites that are kicking ass? I asked about alternative payout possibilities, and was told for security reasons to contact them on the phone, so naturally I did. The other options were "there aren't any", so I'm stuck like everyone else sitting on my hands waiting and hoping they someday send my money. Was told they're looking everyday for new possibilities etc.... and they hope to have things straightened out in a few months! A FEW MONTHS!

I really hate venting on public sites, but man it's really frustrating knowing you battled back to regain some of the cash you lost in the blink of an eye, only to be stuck in a situation where you're at the mercy of these people.

I'm still waiting. Check was requested June 22nd, "processed" June 26th.

Do I get the honor of being the longest still waiting?

Bodog unnecessarily had a lot of processors located in the US. not smart. all their eggs in one basket so to speak.

Barely got you beat, mine was on the 15th of june. You have to hassle them about once a week at least. After doing this for a solid month, I finally recieved my check. It came Aug 22. I then go to my bank only to find out it is a canadian bank check that must be shipped to them and will take an extra 20 days to be processed. A total of about 4 months to get my payout!!!!!! AND WHO EVEN KNOWS, II MAY BOUNCE

i found this forum by googling- bodog broke
some guy on the poker table there said they were going broke
and i was wondering if it was true
for a poker player, bodog is the best site ive found
i get paid out through an ewallet quicker at bodog than any other site
much much quicker, often within 5 minutes of the request
                          im in australia though
i think the u.s. govt is playing dirty frankly and ruining businesses in the process
so much for the shining light of capitalism
by the way is it true bodog is going broke?

                            Welcome, gilligan

Yes, when in doubt, blame the US Government.
