SBR comments on today's rating changes

BetWay upgraded from F to D-.

The rating change reflects the return of confiscated deposits to two players. The sportsbook, which refused to return confiscated winnings and earned bonuses, remains on the SBR blacklist.

BlueSquare downgraded from A- to B+.

Bluesquare players complained in June that the sportsbook was using bait-and-switch tactics with advertised promotions. BlueSquare had offered to match a wager with a free bet up to £100 but refused to give more than £5 after the bet was made. The book claims it reserves the right to change their side of the deals and has refused to reconsider the position.

That bait-and-switch tactic stuff that BlueSquare is using is only worth a a- to b+ rating? Thats crap right there, they should drop down further than that. Bait and Switch is outright scamming, and I'm willing to bet they aren't giving people there funds back when they find out they're scammed.

Bait-and-switch tactics currently being employed by Sportingbet on their "Risk free 50 pound football bet" deserve to see their SBR rating fall off the end of the alphabet! I've done my 50 and the free bet is not being given to me as I am a "NON RECREATIONAL PLAYER"!!!! Absolute disgrace!

I still wonder why, could you be so kind to answer my question in the other topic?

I'm just curious where they draw the line between recreational and professional players....

            It's a blurry line.

If you shop for the best number, you're not recreational.

It also doesn't much matter as long as 1) They specifically offered the bonus, and 2) They hadn't previously told the player he wasn't eligible for (any more) bonuses. It's still theft.

I still think there should be more of a downgrade. I mean when is the "bait and switch" scam considered better than average? Thats essentially what a B+ book is. Better than average considerably. I would think in this industry thats what a B- or C+ is for.

I understand the desire of not wanting to downgrade them so much, but on the other hand, how can you say a B+ book is a safe place to play at, when they are doing the bait and switch scam? They aren't, and there rating should reflect that, and if they don't like there ranking, then they should do something about it.

An book that uses bait-n-switch should be DOWNGRADED TWO units minimum. Just my copper pieces worth tonight.

I'm one of those shoppers and I'm running into Paris Hilton on a daily basis.

I've read on another forum that they use iesnare ( http://www.techworld.com/security/ne...fm?newsid=3028 )

Maybe that's got something to do with it?

They may be downgraded further. Sometimes these books have a chance to review what happened at their meeting and will right the wrong. BlueSquare is a book that has a good reputation and gets very few complaints. If there is a pattern of nickel and diming on these small promos more downgrades will follow.
