    William Hill irregularities?
We have a complaint from a player that believes a wager was altered. He has two screenshots - before and after, that suggest a 50Euro bet was changed from a winner to a loser.

Has anyone else ever had an odd experience like this at William Hill?

This is the first time I've heard of Will Hill possibly doing this sorta thing. In case anyone would like to check the screen shots the player has, you can see them in this thread.

Been a long time since I had any dealings with them, but I can tell you this: their customer service is lousy and they pretty much do what they want when they want. I had a situation with them where they sent me back my money twice to neteller. I sent them a nice email telling them of their error and asking them how they would like for me to return it.

They never responded at all to my email--the next day I noticed they had taken the money from my Neteller account without my authorization.

      Tough company to deal with.

Earlier this year I had an issue with them, regarding a promotion in which if we bet 50 pounds, we would be awarded 100 pounds as a freebet.

I made the bet, won it, got the freebet. Next day, account suspended. Mail received asking for documents, which I sent right away. They unsuspended my account, but I never saw my freebet again. They said I broke their rules, but never said in what way. They think they're always right.

I made a complaint here in SBR, I received some emails from Josh West, provided all he asked me but never had a response

Some days ago I bet my freebet (125€) in horse racing and in the end of the race my horse won.

But surprisingly when I check my balance was zero. Then I check my bet and it had been changed.

I tried talking to them and have received no response.

A few days after my account was suspended and not yet activated me in again.

The problem is that I do not have screenshots of it.

My bet was changed from a horse winner to a horse loser.

I just posted in this in the other guys thread, but I bet on Odesnik to beat Robredo a while back, the odds were 6.5. They limited me on the internet, so I called them up to place the bet and they did just that. Checked after the game that they had voided the bet though.

            Not my favourite bookie.

Everytime I put a bet on with this Pommie outfit, they put my bet on hold and then give me the option to bet peanuts. Sometimes the hold takes so long that I cannot be bothered waiting and simply close the screen. I then usually check at a later stage to see if anything came through or not.
              Yesterday was classical!

I placed a bet at 11:24AM UK Time:

And they accepted the bet 1.5 hours later:

Ah shit Justin7 just hate the European books dont you? especially the big boys.

Got to hand it to you though you do go after the whales of the industry.

You do know though dont you, that you wont get anywhere so you may as well downgrade them now, pat yourself on the back and tick off another job well done.

You done ladbrokes, BetFair, tote and now whills, next up simply has to be Coral or have you already done them.

                  Betpartners,

I don't really care who or where the book is. A+ or D-, I give a book a chance to explain itself. If they choose not to, I accept the player's story if it seems plausible.

Will say though, Betpartners... You are refreshing. I appreciate your politeness and tactfulness in the manner in which you disagree. I'm putting together a list of messages/emails where people vehemently disagree with me, and yours is by far the least angry on the list.

Never had a problem of this nature with William Hill or any reputable bookie.

There is zero chance that William Hill would change a winning bet into a losing one for the sake of GBP 300. This does not preclude a software bug, of course.

I only ever had an issue with one of William Hills betting shops about a year ago. As it's one of there betting shops, I don't think it's relevant here.

Anyways, I posted if before. I placed a scorecast with william hill and the lady behind the counter put odds of 150/1 on the betslip. I stated that I thought the odds were only 50/1. She said, "odds change all the time" so I just agreed and left the shop.

The bet won at (only 5 euro) and I went to the same shop to collect my winnings on the way to work. It was a manager working, after inspecting/scanning the slip, he stated that the wrong odds were on the slip so the bet is void. I said that it does not matter what odds are printed on the slip because the true odds of the bet are on the system. Of course, otherwise I could take the slip and place 5000/1 on it. I said I only wanted it paid out at the true odds of 50/1.

I argued with the manager for sometime. He wasn't letting up. The ONLY reason he did pay is because other punters starting butting in on the arguement and siding with me.

I dont know why you are surprised that they dont respond to you, we been through this many times, no point going on about it again, just to say this issue will continue to run and run in regards to UK books not repsonding and you know why.

That said i responded to this thread as it as posted up yesterday with the most recent post and never realised it was an old issue, my bad.
