    Issue with Bodog Payout
I recently processed three withdrawals from Bodog: $3000 on 10/16, $2000 on 10/23 and $1000 on 10/26. I received my $3000 check yesterday and, when I went to deposit it with my bank (I will withhold my bank name for now, as I am unsure of the etiquette for this site being a new member), I was told by my bank that they were 'no longer allowing deposits from this company.' I am still awaiting resolution from Bodog, and was just posting to throw out a feeler and see if anyone else has encountered this situation and, if resolved, what the resolution was.

    Thanks!

You could just go cash it at a check cashing place right? Or go to a different book where you can do a p2p. That's what I would do instead of having to worry about bank stuff

I thought about going to a check-cashing place, but my fear is that Bodog and 5Dimes use the same/similar processor and I wouldn't want to have a cash-a-check place cash the check only to have that check bounce on their end a couple of weeks later. I don't want to appear to be a deadbeat/felon. I received an email from Bodog yesterday stating that they would forward it to the payout department to investigate further and I should receive feedback from that department by 2130 CST regarding my situation. I've never had a problem withdrawing money from Bodog before, but the fact that they will be exiting the US market at the end of this year, coupled with the problems people have been having with 5Dimes lately has got me a bit worried. I'll keep the thread posted as to what happens, hopefully with the end result being me with my earned money in my bank account.

          Hi Caseyman,

You did the right thing by following up with Bodog. Let us know how it goes.

First of all, I would like to assure you that you will absolutely, 100% get your money from the bodog licensee on which you are playing. If you could kindly PM me your account number I will ask a Senior CS manager to provide an update on your payout asap.

Also, to clarify, it is true that the Bodog BRAND is leaving the US market at the end of the year but the company that owns and operates bodog.eu (MMGG) will continue to operate as normal in the new year but just under a new brand name. Honestly, everything will remain the same and your account will be automatically transferred to the newly branded site- we're essentially talking about a name change here.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Update: I received an email from the payout customer service team who assured me that the check is solid and to 'deposit in another financial institution.' Since I didn't have another local bank I use, I opened a new account and made the deposit. The funds are on hold for '7-10 business days,' which I expected. I will update this post to let you all know if/when it clears.

Update #2: I received a call from the bank that I just opened an account with solely to use as a resource to cash my Bodog winnings, and I received notification today that the $3,000 check in which I deposited has been labeled as counterfeit and is virtually guaranteed to be rejected. I am awaiting on a reply by Bodog to see what the issue is. Will keep you guys apprised of the situation as it unfolds...

Update #3: Check returned last night as NSF. I have a copy of both the returned check and the $35 NSF charge, and will be faxing both into Bodog's finance arm today and will keep this thread updated with further updates. I also just requested another $3000 payout, this time via direct wire into my bank account and will keep the thread updated as to whether or not that posts without issue. Cheers.

Good luck. That's a pain in the butt I'm sure. Even when a book reimburses you for the fees these situations still leave a bad taste in your mouth.

Update #4: I received my 2nd check for $3000 yesterday. It had a different blanket company used as the processor. Deposited into my bank account without issue, the funds should be released to me tomorrow. My bank told me that the funds were available and that I would have no issue with the deposit. I sent Bodog the necessary info regarding the first payment, and they not only credited my account the amount of the check and the $35 nsf charge, but gave me $50 in freeplay in the casino (which I promptly turned into $200 and converted back into sportsbook money). I have a third payout request pending, this time via wire. If that goes through without issue, I will re-withdraw the original $3000 request, and I have been assured that there will be no processing charge given the previous NSF issue. Throughout this entire issue, Bodog's customer service (both their initial customer service through live chat, on the phone, and the Finance Quality Manager with whom I spoke) have been top notch and honestly empathetic toward my dilemma and have delivered on a level that a bettor would expect his book to act. @soxwin: Yes, this issue has been absolutely frustrating, especially since I have never previously had any issue with any of the books which I use (Legends, 5Dimes, or Bodog), but Bodog has really delivered.

I will consider my issue resolved and, unless anything further develops, this will be the last update. BOL to everyone else who has had/having issues.

@SBRLou: Thanks. I feel that lots of times bettors allow their frustration to get the best of them in these types of situations and they they just trash the book and fail to realize that a) what we are doing is technically illegal and that we need to be both cognizant of that fact and aware that there may be some proverbial bumps in the road and b) (most) books, especially reputable ones like Bodog, have their customers' best interests at heart. If they didn't, they'd be out of business pretty quickly.

Thanks for having this site, as a venue for us bettors to both talk about what we love to do with our life and money, and as a mediator on behalf of the bettor as well. Much appreciation from this end of the spectrum. If I had to use your services to mediate, I'm sure I would have gotten top-notch service.
