I've never had any of those problems using online sportsbooks for 10 years.
But I make a point of only playing with genuine A grade books rather than chasing bonuses at dodgy joints.
With rare exceptions I firmly believe that those who have complained of such as you mention at the better books have violated the host's rules or laws of the land. Play by the rules, don't try to beat them and you will be fine.
I've also been using Moneybookers for several years and found them to be a highly professional and efficient operation.

you could look at Bet365 and the other UK books but they all limit severely if you show any talent

Hi dude
I m also frm India & intrested in cricket betting. But as u know it is illegal in India.
Many ppl adviced me to open account on moneybookers(it is an e-wallet to keep money) and bet on betfair.com ot bet365.com.
But the problem is--How can I use that money? I m ready 2 pay taxes to government.
Can u please suggest me the way?
How do u play as u r also indian resident.

Moneybookers is you best option for deposits and withdrawals. Open you account in Indian Rupee (INR). The only two betting sites I know of that accept deposits in rupee are Bet365 and Canbet. I'd advise caution with Canbet, but Bet365 has many Indian clients. They also have a unique bonus offer 100% up to Rs. 2500.

You might be tempted to open you account in USD which they allow in which case you'll get a 100% up to $200 bonus, however over the long haul, the exchange rate will kill you because they hit you both ways and at some point you'll end up just wishing you opened an account in INR (Bet365 is a very good site for India and handles that market extremely well where other sites don't - go with moneybookers account in INR and Bet365 account in INR and you won't be paying any fees on either end).

Now when it comes to using Betfair here ExNxTxRx0xPxAxY is a decent banking option (just note due to recent RBI policies over there your request for a plastic card will be declined but you can still use the virtual one). This is not advertised anywhere and don't discuss it too much - 99% likely Betfair will credit all fees this method charges you within 30 days (They've been doing this for over a year but don't market it to India specifically probably for legality reasons - generally it only takes a few days to get this back). You still pay currency conversion fees but via this method but at least your deposits are exchange fee only. (Choosing USD, EUR or GBP makes no difference but considering Betfair has unique offers for GBP accounts from time to time and calculates discount rate that way - unless having a need for a virtual CC in USD or EUR, I'd opt for a GBP entopay account and GBP Betfair account).

Two other good sites for Indians are William Hill and Ladbrokes. Both very friendly to this market, but neither offers INR accounts nor rebates on fees. Here you should open you account in GBP (unless you already for some reason deal in USD or EUR). You still deposit with your INR moneybookers account and it will get converted along the way.

Horror stories with most US bookies and Asian bookies when dealing with them from India - I'd avoid them like the plague even the reputable ones. For the most part you want to stick to big name UK brands who are all dying to get into a legal Indian market if it ever exists.

So in short for India:

Must have outs: Bet365 & Betfair
Secondary Outs: William Hill and Ladbrokes (These guys have some soft sports on occasion compared to everyone else).
Semi Risk: Canbet - worth using but keep it small.

Whoever told you Bodog for India is wrong not a market they specialize in.

when I withdraw money frm moneybookers to my indian bank account,the govt might smell smmthing fishy here. Bec...
suppose I send 1 crore for betting purpose and recieve 2 crore . The govt will ask frm where did I got this extra 1 crore rupees.

The last two posters in this thread are clueless don't listed to them. None of the eWallets offer cards to India, they used to but that all stopped in Feb 2010. India has more English speakers than any other country but the United States, and the UK bookmakers are all focused on this market.

If you're super worried about it: You can W UxNxIxOxN Betfair and when you withdrawal do an International Wire. Also I know several people in Pakistan that use BetCRIS hassle free (one of the better options for them) but they pay a TON in fees. India does not have have anywhere near the number of restrictions but should be really worried about it that's a site you can be assured of privacy.

I'll point out though while players getting arrested over Teen Patti and Flush games happen from time to time and bookies getting arrested is rather common - India does not hassle those who gamble via betting sites licensed abroad. The new IT rules (not yet in place) do call for it to become more difficult, but meanwhile Sikkim is claiming the central government is wrong because the constitution of India gives states the right, and Sikkim has legalized online gambling including sports betting. Its a super gray area and for the most part they don't want to get involved. In any case, in absence of a state law the crime calls for a VERY small fine (i think Rs. 100) and up to 1 month in prison - However I read about this daily and have never heard ever of someone being arrested from gambling with in their own home over the internet.

The major UK bookmakers eyes are strongly focused on India. The online gambling market is estimated as $120 billion per year in India and it will certainly grow if regulation are reduced. What's happening now however is Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is going one way, while states are looking to go the other and the central governments just caught in the middle. There are multiple laws no one enforces - for example the lottery is allowed only a single draw per week, but this doesn't seem enforced anywhere. PlayWin has them multiple times per hour.

If you're worried use Betfair and BetCRIS via cash transfer and where possible wire. However many use moneybookers no problem at all; I know of one operator who has over 300,000 accounts from Indian. Basically you run the risk of your banking asking about where the money came from in which case you need to tell them something other than gambling. You could them them you "buy websites fix them up and resell them" no one cares that much what you say.

At the comments about India those guys are clueless. It is FAR easier to gambling online in India than it is in the United States and also much more hassle free. (Getting moneybookers verified initially can be a challenge though).

from India you can use moneybookers or neteller.

When you want Neteller or Moneybookers to pay you they can send to your bank. take 1 week to have in India bank account.

If small around 5 lakh per year no problem. when big more 5 lakh bank sometime will ask how you make money. You will tell them something about business (do not tell them gambling).

many in India use moneybookers - only scary at first but then no problem.

Bet365, William Hill, Ladbrokes, Betfair all four know very well about Indian customers - no problem at these websites.

In the past debit cards were available but moneybookers, neteller and ExNxTxRxO Pay no longer offer them.

This is the result of PAYMENT AND SETTLEMENT SYSTEMS ACT of 2007 signed by the president in December of that year with an effective date of 12 August 2008. No one enforced it though, until in February 2010 Reserve Bank of India (RBI) attacked PayPal and instructed all Indian banks no to deal with them because they were out of compliance with the PAYMENT AND SETTLEMENT SYSTEMS ACT of 2007. Soon later it started to effect all ********** and **** which stopped offering these type of cards to Indians. What this is all about is they want to be able to see all money go in and out of bank accounts because many businesses in India do not pay tax and use Moneybookers and ATMs and such to avoid it. This isn't a policy that had to do with gambling - It had to do with the programming and translation and writing companies earning big money and sheltering it via e-wallet accounts and foreign debit cards.
