    Did Pinnacle save the offshores??
Yes, to a point they did. Pinnacle was already hurting their competitors well before new anti-gaming laws were passed in the US. That trend would have likely expanded dramatically had they not abandoned the US market. At first glance it's easy to think that would have been fine, they are the best book out there. On second thought imagine the potential and rather likely consequences. Pinnacle grows and attracts business away starting a rash of sportsbook closures. Goodbye CRIS, WSEX and TheGreek and others like a 5Dimes and so on.

We were on track towards having the ole proverbial all the eggs in one basket scenario. Had that happened a tactful and effective move by the US government would have been to simply go after Pinnacle.

The idea that Pinnacle is gone is tough medicine for the players and the industry. However, it’s very possible that things worked out for the best. There remains over a dozen A rated sportsbooks that offer a variety of options and betting preferences. And there is safety in A rated sportsbook numbers for the players.
