    Extra Check
I received a check on Monday for X amount from sportsbook.com
I received a check today for the same amount.
I only made one withdrawal and I no longer have any money in my account.
The first check has already clearedd.
What are the odds that the second check clears?
If it does, is there any change the book will notice?

You should be honest and let the book know they made an error... I know one thing is for sure... Karma is a b*tch and I learned that in my early 20's...

By the way I am expecting people to cheer you on and wish you luck on getting away with it but they cry when something happens to them...

If the first one already cleared, why would you even chance that the second one doesn't clear? What then? A write up on SBR on how you got screwed by the book sending rubber checks? (keeping in mind that you'll no doubt incur fee's for depositing a bounced check). Just a thought.. call the book, tell em they sent you 2 checks.. If they say it's okay to keep it.. enjoy!

Lots of variables to mull over on this one!

I think everyone that chymed in here on your good problem had a valid answer. Most people that get overpaid or get paid for a win when they lost in blackjack never tell the dealer about it.They all take the position that they were probably screwed at one time or another in a reverse situation so getting paid when you lose just makes up for it.It's all in the cost of doing business for both the casino and gambler.

I do know that the odds are that the check will be good. They are lax on many things at sportsbook.com and giving 2 legitimate checks for the same withdrawal is a probability.I'm no expert on banking but I assume there is a possibility that you might have to pay a fee if the check is no good. The checks are usually from Las Vegas so it's not like you are trying to cash a check from Malta where red flags and repurcusions would arise if the check doesn't clear.Just play dumb like you had the money coming and call sportsbook.com

The downsides are that if you ever play at Sportsbook.com and they discover they overpaid you,you may not get a much bigger winning bet graded. It would be a loophole excuse for them to say that you violated their rules and are an undesirable customer.

If the check is huge,by all means pay it back so us small time recreational players at sportsbook.com don't lose our free weekly bets and the $20-$50 they send us in free bets at the beginning of football season in comps don't go bye bye.hehe!

treat the episode like it's gambling where you evaluate what the upside potential is and downside is of cashing the check. If the check is for a few hundred $$$ and the bad check fee is $30 etc. Then if you are Catholic you have to take into consideration that if you step on the crack in the sidewalk the next time your mother's back will be broken for certain.hehe! Then lightning might strike you.You know,,if all this was the case we wouldn't have a Washington D.C.and all the politicians and government employees in it.hehe! There would be thousands of lightning bolts a day frying that sin city.

I'm a good judge of people but in Vegas on my last visit I ran into a pretty slick con man that was bumming money. The guy was about 45 and was dressed like a doctor which he said he was a cardeaologist. He said his name was Weinstein or something of that nature and the guy had a high vocabulary and smooth delivery. He went on to say that he was in Vegas on a convention and lost his wallet with credit cards and cash. The guy looked like he was in a panic. He said all he wanted was $10 to eat on etc.I got hit on for change and money hundreds of times in Vegas over the years and always knew the people were buns but this guy was different.I still knew that even if he was a doctor he would stiff me.He asked for my name and address and wrote it down when I gave him the $10.I figured it would serve 2 purposes if I gave him the $10.It would be like gambling where maybe the guy was so well off and so grateful that I would get $100 in the mail.Or else if he didn't send me the $10,I would have an excuse from here on out in my life no matter who hit me up for a donation of any kind, I could say I'm using my better judgenment and no longer giving to any cause whatsoever.Since I never got paid,I will save myself $$$$ by never giving a penny to anything or anyone.

                It's for a grand.

The first check just cleared yesterday. So I could always say I assumed that the first one would bounce since that has happened to me before.

Would there be any legal repercussions? I don't think they could someone over an illegal activity.

You people are what's wrong with society!!!

You are basically saying if you can get away with it then go for it... This is complete bullsh*t and it appears like I was raised better then most of you...

For years what has been my biggest problem with society is their/YOUR f*cked up mentallity... For example if someone left money laying around and someone took it they would save face by saying things like "well he was stupid enough to leave it out"...NOT "well I am a thief for taking it"...

Even if you can completely get away with it you should give it back... Don't you people have ANY sense of moral anymore...???

What has sunk AMERICA to new lows is not industry leaving because they don't make or break a country... A country is as good as it's people and AMERICA is going downhill because it's people morality is as well....

Some people might say screw em...they stiffed a lot of people last month and they might have stiffed you so keep it or give the money to one of the victims. My advice is to respect the personal business relationship YOU have with them and do business the right way.

On another note, the processor will be able to blacklist you with any book or business they work with. It can get messy these days. Information is shared much more frequently.

I would call sportsbook.com and explain the situation. I don't even pick up money if I see it laying on the floor unless its coins. Karma will creep on you when you least expect it, why is your decision soo hard to make?

Keep the money for me. I won a 3000 dollar parlay at 5dimes and the guy would only give me 500 for it. At least someone is taking their money before they waste it on drugs and prostitutes.
