    Bovada Over charging accounts

I am attempting to make a deposit to bovada of $150, with their stated 5.9% fee that comes to $158.85 but when I attempt the deposit, they are trying to charge my card $168.35. I have attempted to contact customer service and so far, their gaslighting me saying they don't change their fees. Has this happened to anyone else?

Chances are you are also paying a foreign transaction fee from your CC provider

Maybe they mean it's a fee from your bank?

Is there a breakdown on your card statement of the charge/fees?

I've asked them that specifically but they wouldn't say.

Conan I'd try to avoid CC with any book......but I guess you gotta do what ya gotta do. I personally wouldn't sweat it especially if they are giving you a nice bonus for the deposit. These books (and I don't blame them) do not like messing with CC's. Headaches and more headaches for all involved.

Final answer from my bank as the two reps and one supervisor at bovada were unable to tell me, Apparently they "pre-authorize" a larger amount for some reason and then credit you back the difference. why this is how they do things I don't know and we will see if they actually do refund the difference soon.

If that is the real answer someone needs a slap for not just letting you know right away. Because that is simple and normal.

They don't "refund" a pre-authorization btw. That amount is like reserved funds until they put a proper charge against it. The balance of those reserved funds should become available again automatically within 1-3 days normally.

And your bank should be able to confirm exactly how much was actually charged v pre-authed. That amount wont be changing or refunded against.

Yes, happened all the time when I played there. You always get at least $10 over what you expect, even including the 5.9% fee. A while back, they sent an email saying they were upping the CC deposit fee to 9.9% but they never implemented it.

It's not a foreign transaction fee from your CC. I always used a card with no foreign transaction fee and it still overcharged the amount. I asked them once and all I got was BS double talk.

They won't refund you anything, I'd bet. It's the way they do it.

Gave them the boot 6 months ago. The only thing I liked was they are the only shop that counts racing bets toward your rollover. But they ended most bonuses anyways, so even that didn't matter recently.
