Good luck with that, at least your not in Alabama they don't even have a lotto. No matter your political beliefs Republicans have a strong hold on Florida and privately they may want gambling, but most R's (in the south) think its pollical suicide and will not touch it. They slid it in thru the back door in Tennessee thru the lotto board so they could save face.

Back to Bama they been trying since the middle of 1980's to get gambling and the Republicans have blocked it so many times I've lost count. They even cut out the churches from having bingo fund raiser, now that's just wrong.

You can blame the Seminole Indians for this fiasco.

The Seminoles, Disney, and the anti-gambling folks got together in 2018 and got Amendment 3 passed which did teh folowing:

    1. All new forms of gambling must be approved by voters with a 60% approval.
    2. The law will not apply to any gaming on Indian Reservation land.
    3. No new casinos within 120 miles of a current Indian casino.

It passes, so now the Indians have a stranglehold on gambling in the state.

Then Sportsbetting comes up, and the state wants it. The Seminoles say they will run it, and even allow the racetracks to take bets for a percentage as satellite betting locations, as well as allow mobile betting via app. The servers taking the bets will be on tribal land, so no problem.

Federal court gets involved, says mobile betting is not on tribal land and shuts it down. Court says voters have to approve, and the state doesn't have the 60 approval needed. The lawsuit was brought by FanDuel and DraftKings who are pissed off they are froze out of Florida. State and Indians appeal, because the state is missing out on 500 million a year..... and that is where it currently sits.

Seminoles got greedy with Amendment 3, and now they are painted into their own corner.

Bad situation. I think when they repealed PASPA, they should have made it legal in all 50 states and had one federal law for it all. Now we have a shit show state by state. Look at Wisconsin. They have sports betting but no mobile. You can only bet at Indian tribe casinos.
