    I had my cc cloned at a Sonic drive thru, I had a strange feeling when it happened because the line was slow as hell and the cashier came out and took my card and returned with my food. About a week later they tested it a gas station, which is very common from what I hear. I canceled it immediately, reported the fraud and the $50 was returned to my account before I got the new card. What I don’t understand is , they can’t clone the chip on the card just the magnetic strip, why in the hell do they still allow people to use the magnetic strip?

    Identity theft really sucks, thankfully most gambling degens on SBR won't have to worry about that as their Creddit ratings are already shit and in the gutter. Identity thieves will run from you and your worthless identity like a plague!

    For those of you who say why would you use cards to gamble, it’s because it’s so easy and free. USA books don’t take creditt kards so we have to use the debit cards if you want instant withdrawals. My withdrawals are instantly put back in my
    bank account via the debit card.

    Getting credit/debit card info stolen is very common now. It has nothing to do with gambling.
    Your bank should credit you that money within three days as a temporary credit while they finalize their review. If they don’t do that then change banks. Any major bank will credit you the money while the investigation is ongoing.

    credit monitoring is a joke... all it does is tell you some jackass opened 3 new pnc bank accounts in the middle of the night (and yes they do this even though your credit is frozen)

    then you waste 2 hours talking to pnc bank, and email them a bunch of nonsense to prove that you are you... and then even though you tell them you will NEVER have a pnc bank account, 6 months later some other jackass opens 3 new accounts in the middle of the night

    Banks suck and enable the scammers and throw their merchants under the bus to be stuck losing merchandise and payments.
    One year while away during the Holidays my living quarters were violated on a weekend. I received a call from a local bank that Monday evening asking if I had written a check to {pick any name} for 237.18. I said no nor had I ever heard of this individual. The teller told me the signatured didn't match the one on file. The individual was a juvi and was detained. Someone had stolen my checkbook. {along with a jar of coins }
    The following day I went to my bank to close the account. There were four other outstanding checks plus one for 1300.00 that had been cashed that Saturday. I spoke to that teller and she informed me a woman in her fifties had cashed that check but per policy would not reveil any other information. I filed a police report which went no where.
    My main bank returned the funds. They stated off the record that it's more cost effective to write the loss off with there insurance company than go through the court system. The whole thing was a major hassle and lasting lession.
    Another time I used a card to enter the bank Lobby to get some cash. The following Monday I received a call asking if I'd purchased several hundred dollars worth of merchase from a major store about 25 miles away . "no". Someone had stolen the entire scanner box and was going on a short lived shopping spree. Charge was backed out in a few days.
    It can be a jungle out there at times.

    At least 5Dimes didn't steal your money like Bet on Sports did.

    The bank should do their job and act like a CC... but they don't. The only way to "easily" get it accomplished.... you need to be in good with a manager etc. For some reason when you use your deb card... banks don't want to bother with getting your money back. The last time I used a deb card was 10 years ago. I will never use my deb card anywhere.... always use your credit card.

    Good point. I didn't know they even had any machine out there that could run a magnetic strip anymore and take a transaction. Very odd.
