BetOnline Grade Wager Incorrectly *RESOLVED*

I placed the following wager in August 2019 which should have cashed yesterday, however BetOnline graded it as a loss which I cannot understand in any way. I have had it escalated with customer service via telephone, have an email out and even asked Dave Mason to DM me on Twitter.

Soccer Futures - Spanish La Liga - Odds to win in Spanish La Liga (W/O Barca and Real) - Atletico Madrid -200

This was a $300 wager and there is no debate that it cashed. They finished 3rd with 70 points, tied with Sevilla but Atletico gets the tie breaker due to higher goal differential. Every display of the final table of the La Liga standings will indicate Atletico Madrid finished third behind Barca and Real. I am trying to get out in front of this. What the hell action do we take if somehow they still call this a loss after reviewing it? It is literally not debatable. I never knew BOL to pull something like this

This is what I got back and my response. What they’re saying is senseless.

BOL: Please be informed we have reviewed with our Sportsbook department and wagers are graded correctly as a Loss. These wagers were offered with Special Odds offered in the event Barca o Real did not win. In this case Real Won which is why the wagers are a loss, where in order to win, you required Atletico to win the Championship for these wagers to be winners.

Me: This does not make sense. If I wanted to take Atletico Madrid to win La Liga outright I would’ve taken them at far better odds. This bet was offered because everyone expected Barcelona or Real Madrid to win the league and it is saying that Atletico would win the league without including these 2 teams. The odds would never have been as bad as -200 for Atletico to win and a team other than Barca or Real to win. That would mean a far lesser team would win. That is not what the bet meant. The odds I would have gotten on the bet you described would be minimum +250 probably more like 5/1. What by you are describing is that a bad team would have had to win the league and then randomly Atletico finished behind them? I don’t even understand what would constitute a win in the scenario you described. I would like this escalated further.

Lol sounds about right for them. Make no mistake this is intentional. They do nothing for the 90%+ who dont think they have any recourse, and end up fixing it for the 10% who do report it here or other forums so they come off as “good guys.” SBR will get it fixed for you.

If barca and Real is included, odds for the Atletico to win the champioinship should be +2000 not -200

anybody follows soccer knows every year either Real or Barcelona wins championship.

I know it is difficult to NOT project on to BOL what you know you would do personally if you owned a book. A dishonest person imagines everyone else is too.

But over the many years people have been coming to SBR for problems, can you quote even one example of a grading errror being fixed for an SBR member and later anyone else reporting they didn't enjoy the same regrade?

It'll get fixed. You're just dealing with a person right now that has no clue of what they're talking about. It's not as uncommon as it should be, unfortunately. A few years ago I had an NFL draft prop at BetOnline Over/Under Defensive players drafted in the first round. I won the bet, there was no doubt, but they graded it a loss. When I called to ask why they said an OLB was an offensive player because it was an "O" LB, meaning an offensive player. After thinking I was being put on, we went back and forth for a couple of days, but eventually they fixed it. You just gotta get someone with a clue.

Ive had my share of grading error's @ BOL none of where are "intentional" and all where straight forward winners that any of us could see. Mistakes happen and they will correct BUT the problem like some have said is the first level CS have no clue. Once it finally gets to a manager or SBR gets involved it will be fixed

If its a recurring problem, and you dont fix the source, then they are happy to make the same mistakes. That can be seen as intentional.

Just as expected. I don't understand the complaints in this thread. BOL makes grading mistakes, just like every other book. Sometimes you'll get an idiot on the other end of your customer support request too, and that can be frustrating. But BOL always fixes their mistakes in the end.
