    5dimes senseless rule about password
i purchased a new pc. after 1 day i had to return it do to the problems i had. it would not boot up anymore.pc place gave me a full refund. now i have to change all my passwords that i entered into the new pc the short time i had it. changed 12 different passwords, all online with the exception of 2. 1 quickly changed my password on the phone. now 5Dimes. 5dimes said in order to change password i would have to send them a copy of my drivers license. because i do not have a zero balance. said to go to kinko's. it would be easy. told her that seemed like a lot of trouble just to change password. and i did not know how to take a picture of my license and then scan it into my pc and email it. she had another suggestion that would be ok. since i deposited with transfers from match, just transfer my funds in 5dimes to matchbook, then with a zero balance they would change my password, on the phone, then i could transfer back to my 5dimes account if i wanted. you just can't make this stuff up. maybe i should call back, get someone different on the phone. this can't be correct. can it. anyone run into this at 5dimes. has anyone ever changed thier password at 5dimes.

They're just trying to protect against an unauthorized party locking you out of your account. Did you hit "remember my password" on the new computer, if so I'm assuming you didn't clear your cookies/cache/stored log-in's before returning the PC?

did not get a chance to do anything. 1st day pc was ok. next day it would not even start up. i had saved all passwords using windows. if i can log into my account in the first place most places will let you change your password. some even say to change your password once in awhile for better security. with most places the feeling is----if you can log in---it's you==so they let you change your password online. the only exception to this was 'wagerchief'. 1 quick call and they changed it for me, after a few questions asked for security reasons. for someone to lock me out they would have to get in 1st with my userid and password.

I had the same complaint when I went to change my passwords, but this is alot better than the other extreme. There are places on the internet where the security questions are much too simple.

i agree---better safe-----------just seems like too much trouble to go thru to change password. just easier to transfer back and forth.

I'd rather the sportsbooks be over cautious

Pretty sure matchbook will have some sort of rollover, though. It still might be easier depending on how long that would take you.

velocity micro-----it was damaged in shipping by ups---hole in box -----should have returned it right away but both ups and velocity suggested tring it out---if damaged send it back------nothing to do with quality of velocity and they really made it easy to return.---thanks for all the responses to this tread
