Vipbet.co Anyone heard of these guys? (Australian Users)

Hey guys, a friend of mine got me invited to a sportsbook called VIP Bet. Address: www.vipbet.co
To me it all looks a little dodgy, they are primarily aimed at Australian Bettors. Their website is pretty bad looking.
They seem rather persistent in getting me to deposit, one of their reps said he would double an initial $200 to $400 free of charge with only 1x rollover.
One of my friends has run his balance up to $3000 so I will be interested to see if he gets paid out.
Any info guys would be great.

WOW Tommy... that is a terrible skin and I mean terrible. It obviously is a type of invite service run off of a host setup like a PPH setup (most likely a pph provider by the looks, cannot be bothered to do the investigation right now) is my guess. You have no idea who these guys are and an internet business their front door or store front is the website which indicates much about an inet business. Proceed with caution is my advice... good luck.

Thanks for the reply touchback, I just got in contact with my mate who ran his balance up to $3000 and he says he got paid today.
    I'm still cautious.

The only things I can find are they're based in Vanuatu, a few people getting stung on not fulfilling the conditions of the $200 free bet and having their action cancelled and others being cold called. They also mention on their site they've tried to contact all racing bodies in Australia twice to register and pay product fees and only 3 states finally agreed but they were only harness organisations. So for whatever reason the thoroughbred bodies are still freezing them out. Nothing too damning but I'm not much of a risk taker these days. We have too many great options here, all very well known and regulated - including Betfair obviously which it looks like Vipbet is trying to model - so I personally don't see much point but that's just me.

thanks for that info Shari, the only reason I was considering joining is one of my mate plays there and the op i spoke to on the phone said he would give me a free $200 to play with, so in essence was going to play, roll over money once and withdraw.
After placing one tennis wager with the free $200 I was sent an email stipulating I had bet outside the guidelines of the free $200 and the bet was cancelled. Frustrated with that reply I exited the website and never to play again.

I'm not sure if your friend had to wager with the same requirements but a few guys said they got a response after their bets were cancelled saying they had to use that free $200 on 8 x $20 lay bets, 2 x $10 win bets, 1 x $10 place bet, 5 x $1 trifectas and 5 x $1 quinellas. Not sure what sports the win and lay bets could be used on though or if it has to only be on horses. One guy said the person who referred him got $500 in free bets so at least your friend let you try it out for free and hopefully he made a bit extra too.

If you live in Australia, cant you make your bets from tab shops??

I heard you can get down a grand no problem.

Yeah you can. Odds are pretty vanilla though but I guess that's the tradeoff for the option of having walk in shops since they have all that overhead to take into account. A lot of TABs are attached to restaurant/pub type places so if I happen to be at one I'll bet there, but I usually bet online even though there's one 3 minutes from my house. You see a lot of people there in the day betting on horses or US sports. Business guys ducking in and out in their suits and the lifers who seem to never move and have endless buckets of money to put on every race. Kind of funny to watch them get fired up.

TAB worst lines out. no thanks. suppose it is a luxury for Australians though, always been there.
And Shari as you said, they wanted me to bet that combo you told me. Ridiculous....
They have called me every day too, just let my phone ring out. The guy I spoke to on the phone says he works purely on commision.

See that's bloody ridiculous. Who the fukk is going to clear that rollover? I was doing $1 quinellas and trifectas when I was like 8 with my grandfather picking horses based on names and colours. Did your friend just get lucky somehow or is he simply getting a cut? And the cold calling thing is a total warning sign too. The only experience I have with that in Australia is when a 70+ yo guy I knew from Moonee Valley asked me about this "guaranteed system" for winning at horses for the low price of $3k a month that he'd received a call about. I even talked about it on here after a random poster got the same call and was asking about it. I phoned the number back and asked them what they were going to do for my money and this guy had no clue. Seriously, people who post in the newbie forum have a better grip than this wanker had and I'm no math wizard so I assume he jacked a list from the track somehow. I have never been called from a legit Aussie book with a marketing offer, not even Tommy W - even when they have awesome promos going on I get an email, text or something in the mail. I understand that's the standard for some offshore books and that's cool but if someone's harassing me on the phone in Australia they have no hope of getting my cash.

I personally don't know anyone who has been limited by a TAB. The online book is a bit different but I've never seen anyone turned away from a bricks and mortar TAB or not paid out even during Spring Carnival when people consistently hit big 6 figure payouts. I've seen one TAB ask someone to spread their cash between one pub and another because the girl working the counter was worried about lack of security but never limited and the guy understood and went down the road to get the rest of his money on and then came back. At a racetrack TAB, no way. You have the cash they'll take it.

Shari, I believe my friend played along with their game initially and just did safe bets. I'm not 100% sure what they were getting at seeing as I hadn't made a deposit yet but there was $200 of free money in my acct but had to be bet the way we spoke of earlier. Bet the tennis match and they sent me a text msg and email saying it was outside the guidelines of the free $200....
All i know is he ran his balance up to $3000 (from an initial deposit of $200 + $200 free money), requested a payout and it came within 24 hours. Why he plays at this book I will have no idea? He mainly bets on racing (horses/greyhound).
I feel uneasy looking at their web page, looks cheap and nasty and reeks of scam, but somehow he got a payout. I want a free $200 but giving over my information to play at this cheesy book...hmmmm...might give it a miss.

Roanildinho, you can bet any amount you like at the TAB. I used to (stupidly) place $5k wages over the counter, but everytime my bet won they would write me a cheque as there was never enuf money in the till.
Last Australian Open there was a man who placed $1 MILLION dollars on Rafael Nadal to win some match at $1.02. He donated the winnings from that match to a bush fire appeal....

HAHA wow that is great to hear!!! Tommy - why do you say stupidly? lost bets? hopefully not right. I just dont see how these tabs can make money if sharps play.

Also great information the site, if your friend says he got paid maybe it is worth to try, but if you have tabs i still see no reason! haha
BUT I GUESS better odds are always appreciated , take care thanks tommy.

I have been called by TAB, Luxbet and BetEzy (twice).
All regarding current deposit specials. TAB I opened an account but never deposited. The other two were dormant with zero balances.
Definitely not harassed and all one off calls.

I've never opened an account with Luxbet or BetEzy but I've never been called by TAB or any other Aussie book other than to deal with issues, definitely not marketing stuff. I used to get texts from TAB once in awhile around Spring Carnival or the start of AFL/NRL but I sent them the opt out msg because their crappy odds were driving me nuts and haven't heard from them since other than emails which is fine. When people on here complain about getting repeated calls from offshore books I totally understand where they're coming from. One call and a polite "no thank you" should be fine. You keep bugging me and I guarantee I'd rather not bet at all than give you my cash. Thinking about it, we're actually quite spoiled here, no?

Vanuatu, few less then ideal names linked (Arbitration and Mediation types). Allowing punters to lay horses/dogs - price you can lay at varies from below best tote to well above best tote depending on whether you're any good or not.
    Lots of slow pay talk.
    Stay away.

They are currently on a big drive for business with a highly complex pyramid selling type scheme to get you to introduce new customers.

I've had phone calls and emails and today's post has brought a 9 page document promoting their "money tree"!!
