TheGreek unethical play Boston season total

Can't believe this has happened yet again, thegreek have cancelled my boston under 50.5 games total obviously due to one of their games being cancelled.

So let me get this straight they are taking advantage of a tragedy that happened to retrieved money on a bet that was never going to go over 50.5

They stand on 41 wins with at the time, 2 games remaining even if they won both remaining games they finish on 43 wins.

As soon as I saw the NBA cancelled that game, I started counting down how long it would take for a thread like this to show up.
But remember, there must be some players who played the over on Boston wins at the Greek who are rejoicing at the moment since they'll get their money back. (unless they graded them losers already)
Tough break, but I think you just have to file it under the life sucks and then you die column, and move on.

the overs was never going to come close to winning even if you gave boston 2 wins from the last 2 games and yet when a tragedy occured thegreek straight away cancel it when other books had already settled the market accordingly weeks ago..

It is a tricky situation, but as long as they (and every other book who specified 82 games must be played) cancelled both Over bets as well as Under bets then it's a fair outcome. Otherwise the book is in a situation whereby they pay out winnings on the Under but then they also have to refund stakes to all people who bet the Over as well because thats exactly what their rules state.

would be interesting to know if anybody else that took boston over 50.5 get refunded too at thegreek
shit will hit the fan if they only cancelled the under bets and graded the overs as losses

How does it work in baseball where it is a lot more common for teams not to play 162. Does the o/u in wins for a team also void when a team doesn't play a full 162?

Nothing unethical here. This is standard for pretty much every reputable sportsbook.

Both Boston and Indiana were grade NA for Over and Under wagers

Disclaimer Team must play 82 games for wager to have action

case closed, it doesn't say 81 Reg season gm's for action

Is there a prevailing rule in baseball for team total wins where they don't play 162?

no differnt than a baseball game being way over in the 8th inning and being cancelled b a rain out. Greek followed the rules. Now if they didnt cancel the wagers, that would be unethical towards the over betters.

but this was due to outside influences, not because of say for e.g player strikes etc

what if someone that had some insane amount on the over 50.5 and knowing they were going to lose a lot they took matters into their own hands and phoned in a bomb threat or something of that manner in one of the last couple of games? knowing that if they get the match cancelled they can get a refund as they know this rule is in place.
As far fetched as that seems that is not 100% inconceivable.

Someone could phone in a bomb threat at halftime of any game where their side looks dead.

You really need to accept it as a bad beat and move on.

Nothing unethical here, it is the industry standard that teams must play 82 games for NBA season win totals to have action. Everybody gets refunds, whether you had the 'over' or the 'under'.

Yeah nothing unethical here, I'm saying that riding the exact same wager (not at the greek). Rules are rules, harsh or unfortunate would be more fitting.

Who the fukk took Boston over 50.5 wins!?!? I never saw the totals for this year, but would have to assume that Boston was no more than 45 tops, crazy.

Most books would have already paid the winners before the game was cancelled. When you are on the wrong side the books don't wait until the end of the season.
