Yes and yes, It depends on the boom you use but if you use a good high rated book who sends it the day of the request it should hit your account in 2-5 days. keep in mind CC deposits often require you to send copies of the card an id and verification form and can have hold up to like 3 weeks before you can withdrawal someplaces talk to individual sites and get ALL the info you can

Where do these transfers usually come from, like what countries do these books send from?

WIRE TRANSFER is BANK to BANK transfer or TELEGRAPHIC TRANSFER (whether local or international).
And mind you, having this option might get in your nerves coz it would take days. Even if books tells you that it would take 2-5 banking/working days, it could be longer than that coz it depends on how fast the banks would transfer your money. And be careful on how much you are transferring or receiving, as you might be questioned.

I think bank wires are a too complicated and it takes too long for the money to get to you or get to your sportbook, there much easier ways to send money

If you've got patience, then there would be no problem for you to wait..
Anyway, are you aware with charges that your bank might apply?

                Andrea dear..
if you're an active bettor patience will not be a virtue for you to wait for your money to be posted. you should have good anticipation on when your money would arrive in your account for you to bet on the games that you want.

on your secon dquestion, it depends on what currency you are using. I am not sure if the processing rate is standardize or banks has different percentage. Basically, the processing fee depends on how much you are sending (if I am not mistaken, since it's been years since I did this).

Bank wires are a last option for me. Banks, in trouble, 'will steal'; as in small amounts, and left right and center. I sent two bank wires recently. One was returned, with an extra $90 slapped onto the standard $30 charge, because the bank clerk had made a mistake (that I had questioned him about beforehand...). The foreign bank sent it back, but not without conveniently setting their own price. The other wire was received by the book, but went through an extra bank along the way, which also added charges. The books ended up paying for all fees, because that was the agreement, but I would rather stick a note on a pigeon.

Just recently did a bank wire (deposit). The info the book gave me was incomplete. The bank teller told me if all the information is not complete it can take up to 3 months to resolve the issues... I recontacted the book and was give all the "correct" information. The knowledgeable bank teller sent it through. The money was deposited in the book the next day. So, it was rather fast, but could have been a nightmare. The fees were $25.00

This is really fast for a wire transfer, are you sure that your transaction was international wire transfers?

And yes, it could have been a disaster if you haven't gotten the correct information.
