    It's not a MyCelium feature I don't think.

Why do you want to force a new address creation? It probably does not matter too much if your receive two payments to the same address in 99.99% of cases.

it automatically generates new one's after you receive one...but if you want a different one now just tap on the QR code as it will provide a different format one as there are always 3 available P2SH, BECH32 and P2PKH

Here is why. You request an address and at BV if I put that address in... and let’s say I end up cancelling my withdrawal... that address will stay at mycelium. So fast forward a week later I’m actually making a withdrawal without cancelling, and it says “duplicate address please enter a brand new address”.

So that’s why. But only BovDa recognizes that.

It’s all good. Easy fix to that is deposit $25 the bare minimum from another address and that will generate a new one

Some books, 5dimes for instance, will not send to a previously used BTC address

If the address had been used it would have changed for him.

So 5dimes would still see it as new even if he had given it to someone else who has not sent yet.

The OP had a unique situation due to the previous cancelled payout this time. Should not come up very often.
