In my experience with blockchain. Basically you are good to go. But If you want to make sure of your wallet safety and security you can do all those steps especially backuping those phrases as it might help you in case you forget your password

You are good to go once it is open, but you do need to write down that 12 word phrase and put it away somewhere.

If you get locked out of the blockchain account, you can still recover the wallet and funds if you have that.

For the blockchain wallet I have the 2-step verification, email login attempt verification, and then a text message code to enter. All these are in place to protect your funds. Use them all and for every crypto accounts you may have. My coinbase, email, passwords, and other personal info was found on the dark web earlier this year. The only thing they didn't have was my phone so as to receive the text code to enter and confirm transactions.They were trying to make withdrawals from my account for a couple of months.

WOW. I got to hope I win. Then trust the book to pay me. Then hope my money don't get stolen on its way to me. Any idea how your info wound up on the dark web?

Good advice. I use 2FA google authenticator for everything that accepts it including bitcoin sportsbooks.

I strongly recommend Authy over google's 2FA, if you ever lose, or break your device, there is no recovery for google authenticator, but there is for Authy

If you lose your phone and use google authenticator you can recover by a backup code or by filling out the account recovery form.

Yo it's 2019. It's really easy to lose your phone or get it hacked. Remember the fappening?

Gotta write it down if the money is important to you.
