Customer Service and Account Verificatoin / KYC / AML tend to be managed by different people or departments at many bookmakers that I have had experience with. I have no experience with MyBookie but this could be the reason for the miscommunication you are experiencing.

Particularly when you call, the CS agent does not have the benefit of researching your query thoroughly as they are trying to give you a reasonable response and move on to the next phone call. This is not top notch CS, but not necessarily sketchy or a scam either.
The image of your e-mail transaction posted by Optional seemed like a very reasonable request even if it got to you after several conversations over the phone or chat with their customer service reps. Very frustrating but again, not unreasonable.
