#3No locals want to go to any of their properties anymore to pay 9 bucks an hour to park their car.
Las Vegas locals are flocking to the casinos who don't try to take their money before they even walk in.
They became so greedy with the paid parking that it is costing them less gambling revenue.Comment -

#4Caesars is cutting jobs but I know union headwinds and essentially higher wage demands will lead to this type of issue. The positive is I’m sure these casinos have wait lists of people who want to work there.Comment -

It seems kind of dumb to have gamblers thinking about time for any reason.
I don't give a stuff about parking fees when on holiday and like having a car so I just do valet parking at every place I go, and never been charged hourly. Pretty sure MGM Grand was only $15 for as long as I liked last trip. Paris was free. Plaza downtown was also free valet service but if you tipped the guy 10 bucks you would be treated like a VIP and your car left out front, 20 yards from the end of Freemont..Comment -

It was all started by MGM charging for Golden Knights games when T-Mobile Arena opened.
They then got greedy and said screw it, let's just charge at all of our properties.
Just about every other greedy casino followed suit.
It varies by casino but most are like $9 an hour or like $36 for between 4-24 hours.
Pure greed.Last edited by Frank; 05-04-19, 11:18 AM.Comment -

Wynn recently recently pulled that back, but they sneakily raised their resort fee at the same time. I dont think Venetian have ever charged.Last edited by xKMACKx; 05-04-19, 09:57 PM.Comment -

#11Caesars properties don't charge for parking for Diamond or Seven Stars; still, agree it's ridiculous for casinos to charge hourly parking for anyone. That's the problem with Vegas, or at least the strip and even Fremont now, though to a lesser degree -- they're not offering customers value. It's not about union headwinds (unions have less power now than they've had for 50, maybe 100 years), baseballstud, and it's not about workers demanding higher wages. That's just silly. It's about the casinos trying to wring every last cent out of their customers. Customers get tired of that, and this is the worst time for MGM/Caesars/etc to be pursuing that strategy, because with online betting and legalization coming or already arrived in more jurisdictions, consumers have more choices.
Resort fees, parking fees, $400 pool cabanas, $10 to get into Diamond lounges, reduced benefits for Seven Stars, outrageous prices on everything, and tighter and tighter slots -- they're just nickel and diming customers to death, and customers are finally calling bullshit. I love Vegas, and I love the strip, but I find myself going less and less because of their asinine strategy to squeeze customers until they pop. So given how they're treating customers, it's no surprise that the best strategy they can come up with to improve their bottom line is to cut employees rather than keeping and attracting customers. Great - cocktail service will get even worse! Talk about a downward spiral. I hope they can pull out of it.Comment -

#12Public companies who are addicted to growth all eating each other trying to be the last standing.
When they need to form a united battle front and make sure Vegas remains the Adult version of Disneyland.
Consolidation is probably a lot smarter than growth with the new competition, but share holders aren't going to like that..Comment -

#13Agree with others, Vegas got greedy. I used to go there once or twice a year but stopped a few years ago when they introduced resort fees, 6/5 blackjack etc Now my $5000 budget goes on a nice cruise which includes gambling and so much more, and I get to see the world.
I know cruise ship casinos are probably as bad if not worse than Vegas odds, but the experience is 100 times better overall.Comment -

#14Word on the street is they can't recover after the Mandaly shooting.
... But, as a local, i can't remember the last time i was on the strip.
...bums need to be tossed. It's a consistent complaint among tourists. They have to give police more authority in dumping bums in a place far off from the strip, unquestionably. But, we did elect a lot of democrats and import a lot of Californians, so we may see Vegas fall apart soon.
...I am going to consider moving in the next couple of years if we can't find a way to fix this.Comment -

#17Sure as shit though Chief Financial Officer Corey Sanders and the executive crowd will not be taking any type of a pay cut and will most definetly get bonuses for hitting targets or just for being a phucking warm body in a chair in the boardroom. Corporate America is raping the public's financial twat. I love how the round table of talking heads approves each others ginormous salary and bonuses. Stock markets are where all the the thieves hang out. Just give the public a piece of paper that coul be worth $100 today and $1 tomorrow. The board still gets paid.Comment
