Bovada and deposit tax-do not use Bovada
Bovada has recently began charging a 5.9% fee for all deposits on V1SA and Mas+ercard and a 9.9% fee for all Amex deposits, except for the first deposit.

With the 2.38% juice that’s already placed on bets, that means that you have to win 58.01% of your bets to break even if you use V1sa or Mas+ercard and 62.51% of your bets to break even with Amex. The calculuation is even worse than simply adding 5.9% + 2.38% and 9.9% + 2.38%. You actually have to calculate (1.059 x 1.0238)-1 to determine the overall juice with V1SA or Mas+ercard and (1.099 x 1.0238)-1 to determine the overall juice with Amex.

55% is often cited as the maximum a better can hit. Both of these break-even totals are well above that.

Bovada is being rather sneaky. Few people realize that a deposit fee is essentially added juice. It’s just being paid up front, rather than on the bet itself.

I’m very surprised that nobody on this forum has seemed to mention this before. How does Bovada still have an A grade?

God I hate the gambling laws in the US. It leaves us with such a shortage of sportbooks, and the few we have can treat us like shit since they have few competitors.

And, if you’re over the age of 25, please don’t tell me that you use bitcoin. (Which is the only thing on Bovada with no deposit fee.)

PS why won’t this website let me type out V1SA and Mas+ercard.

So you have a problem with the Bovada credit card charges, but don't want to hear the solution which you know is Bitcoin. Take your CC action elsewhere or learn how to use bitcoin. Pretty simple IMO

Even bookmaker now charging 5% on **** deposits. But if you use Amex or ********** they give you 5% bonus.

Just learn to use bitcoin it's so simple and you get paid faster, less KYC info, and you can spend it on a debit card or get cash as soon as you get your payout. Plus books will give you great bonuses, or at least not charge you for your deposit.

Speaking of BTC deposits at BV, is anyone getting an error message when attempting (error popup from bovada's site when picking btc deposit)? Tried all the cookies and cache crap, but always same error.

Their sister site, Ignition poker is just as bad. I think the last time I threw a hundy in there it ended up being, like, 84 dollars or something. I've been getting the messages from Bookmaker as well promoting some kind of debate or something on Mister Kard and Amex deposits.

I agree with this. There's also other ways to fund an acct without the use of Bitcoin to. Don't know what the OP's point is? Doesn't want to research other solutions?

Bovada has been charging for CC deposits for years, it was always 4.9 percent, recently went up to 5.9 percent.

orange, we were all hesitant to use bitcoin but once you do it's an easy process, i just go direct from the kraken to book, and direct from book to the kraken. some use an intermediary but that's not really necessary

Bookmaker outright denies that it imposes credit card charges on its website, for some reason. Read what it says under “Is there a fee for using my credit card?”

They are doing a pop up when you sign in with the new charges, these sites always are late updating the entire site when they change rules.
