    Rhode Island next???
I'm seeing ads for a sportsbook at Twin River. Anyone have any details? I'm mainly looking to fund an account and be able to jump over the border and put my bets in......assuming it's geo-locked. Be great if they could get it going before football ends.

I'm in Mass. I'm hoping to load up an acct and jump over the border, put my plays in and, ideally, have them mail me a check for any winnings. Just like they do in Vegas. I hope it's not William Hill......I hear they're dicks to deal with unless you're getting skinned alive.

          Never thought this would happen

smoke legal joint in Mass, gamble sports at the dog track (woops, Twin River)
stay in hotel, see bands, and mobile betting next year. plus Newport soon.

feel bad for the guys in jail over running books and dealing pot.

it's not just William Hill, it's IGT and them.

if I hadn't already been betting sports for over 30 years this would be exciting.

It’s not online guys.. only going to be able to bet at the two casinos in Lincoln and Tiverton.

The one in Lincoln opens Monday at 3pm.

They won’t even be able to offer props for a little bit.. computer system isn’t set up for it yet

Foxwoods/Mohegan must be going nuts. Connecticut was initially better situated to start taking bets, timeframe wise anyway. I'd be surprised if they didn't fast-track their agenda.

They can’t. They have to wait for early next year. A lot of things going on behind the scenes in CT with what %s the tribes want. My guess is they will be up and going by may/June, if not earlier.

Never mind all the MA, RI, and CT action. For a short while they're gonna get action from New Hampshire and even some from Maine. My buddies think those northern guys won't bother and they'll continue to use locals/offshore but I disagree. Everyone has at least one getting-stiffed horror story.

Do you think they'll have the option of claiming winnings by mail? Be nice to not hafta drive all the way back down just to cash a ticket.

                      They probably have to, no?

I think it’s going to be very disorganized to start

Yeah, I'm sure you're right. I've heard W Hill is anal about players cards and tracking individual play. Just thinking out loud here but I'm guessing one won't be able to stay under the radar with these guys.....meaning it won't be like slots where as long as you're under that $1199 mark you can remain totally anonymous. It's probably a pain to play and even more of a pain to get paid with stupid forms and I'D s needed and such. Under the 'you learn something every day' category......Twin River's not tribal? I thought they all were but I guess not. Is the state taking around 50% normal???

It’s the highest tax of any state by far. Delaware is the closest at 40%. I think Nevada is 10%. So I did wonder if vig will be -115, not -110... but since William hill is behind it, I’m sure it’ll be -110.

It’s not tribal. Twin river is run by the state lottery.

Rhode Island penetrates up everything new they approve with ill advised limits. I don't know what's wrong with that state--it's like they arrogantly think they know better than other jurisdictions.
¼ century ago they allowed the Jai-Alai place to offer horseracing simulcasting in similarly inefficient fashion-- only between certain hours, only certain tracks, only a grand total of x races. You'd make the trip out there not knowing 100% if you could bet on your preferred tracks or races. I don't remember any track that was offered every day of the week it held racing, when racing ran late it'd mean race(s) wouldn't make the cutoff betting time-for that reason, allowed operating hours and max simo limits you couldn't count on all of a track's daily races being offered for racing, not every race offering betting was shown on the monitors...

                              Huh?

Twin river is open weekends for horse racing til 11 or midnight. They are open everyday but Sunday now.

As for sports betting.. stopped by today to check it out. Obviously they aren’t taking bets yet, but they had the odds up and running and it was surprisingly -110 across the board.. even totals.

William hill being in charge of it might limit the amount that Rhode Island penetrates it up

Oh believe me, Mass will absolutely f@%k it up as well. Just like they did with the Plainfield slot parlor. The hands down most popular thing in there is those movie-projector blackjack machines and it took my asking six employees to confirm the blackjack machines are indeed 6/5 before I found someone to reluctantly admit that is the case. All the blue haired aunties and grannies I know will ABSOLUTELY not play there cuz the slots are so tight. It didn't take them long to figure it out either. Now they all go back to Connecticut. Here is my biggest question and it may sound stupid but.......do you think Twin River will offer team totals on NHL, NFL , and, most importantly, MLB? People look at me like I have six heads when I ask this and say, "that's a dumb question......of course they will." I'm not so sure. I hear those are hard to find, even in Vegas. Baseball TTs are a one of the few places I can do reasonable well.

I doubt it. 100% not at first.

Going into tomorrow, they will just have the major sports + college.. spread, ml and totals.

No props to start off. No EPL or any soccer at first.

So there’s a 99% chance they also won’t have team totals to start
