Why are baseball lines so tight? In other words... in basketball and football on most books, undiscounted lines are usually 20 points apart... for example -110 on one side and -110 on the other. In baseball, especially when the teams are evenly matched, lines are only 10 points apart. That's wonderful to bet, but am wondering why that phenomenon is only present in baseball.

#2To encourage the action. Baseball action much lighter as compared to football and basketball.

#3Baseball unlike other sports isn't as much as team sport. Pitching is dominant. Heavy lines more than - 200+ usually have an ace pitching along with a great lineup. Refer to the Astros and their two aces, the dodgers with Kershaw. When these players are pitching , the chances of them winning are very high according to statistics.Comment
