Okay, for lack of a better place to post this I posted it here and I'm looking for advice.
One of the books I use is partybets it has terrible prices but the lines come out early over seas and I find I can take advantage of them sometimes there. (Just to justify myself because I know everyone will write in saying PartyBets sucks.)
I placed a second half wager on the basketball game last night (Orlando @ LA) for a "draw." Obviously the game went to OT and the Lakers won by 5. The Lakers were also leading at HT by 5. I did this for a max stake (set by partybets) of $100 @ 15.00 odds. I did this planning to take the Lakers to win the second half at a much bigger wager, then decided against it and just to write my $100 off. Low and behold the Lakers win by 5 and I'm shocked.
Partybets won't settle my bet as "correct" claiming that I was wagering on the "second half," only the third and forth quarters. In their sports services agreement it states:
" 3. Unless otherwise stipulated:
3.1 for European ice hockey (excluding CHL, NHL and OHL), football and handball events odds are based on the result after regular time which includes time added by match officials for stoppages (injury time), but not scheduled extra time or penalty shoot-outs etc. The same counts for rugby events where the draw option is offered;
3.2 for CHL, NHL, OHL, basketball, American football and baseball, odds are based on the result after regular time and any period of overtime and extra innings played."
As well as their online betting glossary (obviously unofficial)
Overtime Extra playing time added in the event of a draw at the end of regular time in order to determine a winner. Overtime always counts for betting purposes in American sports but never in Football unless otherwise stipulated.
My offical bet was
"2nd Half Winner: Draw @ 15.00"
First off, am I right?
Secondly, if so what do I do? I just spent an hour on the phone with them and they won't stand behind it claiming that the "2nd Half" was strictly the third and fourth quarters. Doesn't their website say differently?
I'm looking for some advice on what to do with this. Thank you.
