Golf Matchup Help

So I placed a large wager on a Round 2 golf matchup, I bet on M. Jones and he was matched up against O. Schniederjans on Bookmaker.

What happened was that Schniederjans submitted an incorrect scorecard at the end of the round, thus he was disqualified. According to my understanding of golf rules, the score of Schniederjans is in this case effectively infinity. The PGA.com website also does not list a score for Schniederjans Round 2 on their website.

In my opinion this wager should be graded as a win for me due to the DQ of Schniederjans in Round 2, maybe even a push. Schniederjans also tweeted out the reason for his disqualification: https://twitter.com/ollie_gt?lang=en

Bookmaker customer service is saying that I lost the bet because Schniederjans is only being listed as disqualified because he did not make the cut.

What do you guys think? What can I do?

I think you should email back (not live chat) and ask them to escalate your enquiry to a manager as you are not satisfied with the answer CS gave you about the bet grading.


Explain that you cannot see any reference to a player being disqualified voiding bets. And you believe as both players teed off, then you have action, and the bet should be graded a winner.

Golf General Rules

Betting on all Major Golfing Events

Straight money line betting as well as match-ups.
Betting right up until tee-off time.
In head-to-head match-ups, both golfers must tee-off in order to have action. If one player misses the cut, his opponent is deemed the winner. If both players miss the cut the lower score wins. If both players have the same score, then all wagers are refunded.

Special Handicap Head to Heads
If a player withdraws after tee off or misses the cut the player who plays the most holes wins. Playoffs do not count for handicap bets.
To Win a Tournament

Bets placed on Golfers to win a Tournament within 10 days of the tournament commencing and the player is a non starter, bets will be refunded.
The Only Outright bets that will not be refunded is when 'ALL IN' betting is stated, and they are genuine 'Futures' Markets and posted more than 10 days prior to the Tournament.
In the event of a tie where 3 or more competitors are offered in one betting option, the payout will be divided by the number of players tied. For example 2 players tie for the Top USA player at the British Open will result in the normal payout given divided by 2.
If a tournament is shortened, after it has started, then all bets stand. Bets accepted after the end of a day's play are void unless there is further play, which counts towards the result of the tournament (other than a playoff). Or the betting is specifically stated to be on the outcome of a playoff.
If a tournament is officially abandoned, all bets on the tournament are void, except options that have already been decided.

Since Ollie confirmed that he was DQ for signing an incorrect card would not he be considered the loser of the matchup?

In the OP's case, Bookmaker specifically states that players must tee off for action and makes no mention of mid round withdrawal/disqualification.

That is the entire rule in regards to a play DQ from the book - my book first graded as a loss, then changed to a win, now has changed back to a loss. I took the player vs. the DQ'ed player. In my mind this is very clearly a win for me since he was DQ for signing an incorrect scorecard after the round - even though it didn't affect his overall score.

I can't think of any scenario where you have a losing ticket there.

It should be either Win or Void.

Do the same as I said above for Bookmaker. Send an email asking it to be escalated to a manger for review.

If you can't work it out with them, shoot in an SBR sportsbook complaint form.

they need to change their rule because as it is written your bet should have been voided

I do agree it should be a win though
