EZbets (D-) voids players winning NBA wager
EZBets (SBR rating D-) sportsbook voids $2,727 winning wager

Game in question: Denver Nuggets vs Portland Trailblazers
    Bet: 4th Q over

Management voided the winning wager, which would have netted the player $2727.27 due to the line being incorrectly listed as 3Q. The player did point out that the line was hung after the 3Q had already completed, and that he also had legitimate bets on the 3Q which had lost.

This game was played on April 15th, 2009.

They are very sloppy with these.

I bet one after the first quarter. Turns out they voided it, they put the next days matchups up instead in the same place they normally put today's in quarter.

So instead of a winner, I got graded with a "pending". Had to win the sucker twice to get paid lol.

Caveat emptor. Some books, unfortunately, will bend circumstances in their favor every chance they get.

I wonder how many of these people would get paid if SBR didn't get involved.

Even poorly rated sportsbooks recognize SBR as the industry leader in fair and balanced coverage of sportsbooks. While they may not enjoy being a lower rated shop, they understand that the evaluations are fair and that SBR is the source players go to for the latest and greatest information on payouts, how players are treated, and scam alerts.

It's not all as cut and dry as that, though. A lot of employees and managers at sportsbooks are good people in a bad situation, with limited ability to control things outside of their pay-grade. A player can go months with a raw deal, being stiffed on a wager etc, but once SBR gets their hooks in the case more often than not we are able to represent players and reach a satisfactory resolution. There are certainly never any "ultimatums" as you say, simply facts and ethics. Not every case ends up solved, but many are.
