#37I just signed up at America's card room and they do not accept Bitcoin. I've become so spoiled using Bitcoin I doubt I'll ever use anything else for online gambling. Once they accept Bitcoin I will play. Until then I guess I'm going to stick with BetOnlineComment -

#40Have you got any beef with the content of my post? Or did you just post to make dumbass personal comments about me?
I'm a moderator here. Part of my role is to provide a balanced opinion when it's needed. But that isn't even what happened here... have you really got some criticism of my personal opinion there? Something factually wrong or unfair in what I said?
Hey Optional, I just saw your reply. I figured you'd have something to say about my post.
And the answer is no, there is ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong with being on the "Sportsbook side" of almost every post that bashes a S-book for something that a depositor doesn't like. ESPECIALLY when those S-books are paying this site!!
What other "option" does "Optional" really have? LOL
Look man, to me, I have an "Us vs. them" attitude towards these Sportsbooks. I don't give a damn about these places! They are trying to win our money and we are trying to win their money.
But I totally agree that these top places that pay to advertise on here are very "fair". They are top flight S-books!
Hey look, I will always look at both sides of something. I LOVE giving the "other side" to people when they voice an opinion, and I agree with you that your role is to "provide a balanced opinion when it's needed." But you always seem to appear & give the "other side" when someone makes a negative comment about one of these books that pays to advertise here on SBR!
A poster talked about his dislike of Betonline's payouts, and You told him that he was "bitching" and that it was "difficult for offshores to operate for him."
So, and thus I made a post that said:
"LOL Optional NEVER says a bad thing about the S-Books that pay to advertise here on SBR! Wink-wink!"
Don't read too much into it. I have no problem with you or your posts.
And besides that, If you aren't posting in "defense" of the books that pay to advertise on here, then it would be some terrible marketing that needed to be cleaned up! LOL
I can only tell you what 2 different S-books told me after they paid me quickly, and I told them that I was going to tell SBR how satisfied I was about their payouts and service. Both S-books told me: "Don't worry about it, we don't pay them, so since we don't pay them, it won't matter what you tell them, they won't promote us."
I tend to whole-heartedly believe that.
There are plenty of terrific & "fair" S-books out there other than those 5 or 6 that pay to show up on the top of every SBR page.
Just don't get me wrong. You'd be ridiculous not to "defend" a paying customer! Hell, make me a moderator and I'll do the same thing! It'd be ridiculous if I didn't!!
I tried to explain my comment. I hope it goes over well.Comment -

#41I hope they hold a big event -- like yesterday's $215 rebuy -- again.
Lots of satellites for weeks leading up to it. Lots of fish that didn't take the addon!

#42This is very clever optional. I guess I should have started this in the poker sub-forum I'm sorry I just always prefer sportsbooks and the industry because I'm a lot more heavy of a sports better than poker player on these sites.Comment -

My poker career started on SBR and I am a bit of a fish when it comes to cash poker.
I've asked this before. When I have played live tourneys with rebuys about 8-10 times I never ended up needing to rebuy but I notice 80% of people do. Does this say something about my play?
And if my stack is above average at the addon stage, what's the upside and downside of an addon at that point?
That's fine. I linked this thread to the poker sub-forum anyway.Last edited by Optional; 01-05-17, 04:34 PM..Comment -

On this BetOnline tourney for instance, an initial buyin (or rebuy) got you +3k chips, but the addon got you +6k chips. So 2x the chips at the same cost. In other tourneys on the site you get 2.5x the chips. Crazy not to take when many others aren'tComment -

It's fine to not rebuy IMO. But the addon usually gets you more chips than the rebuy, at the same cost.

Rebuys got you 1500 and the addon got you 5000
I had to rebuy once, right before the damn addon break so was presented with the choice of 1500 for 6 bucks or 3000 for 12 bucks with another 6 bucks for 5000 a few minutes later.
I think 8200 was the average stack at that point. Anyway, I only did the single rebuy and was left with 6500 after the addon.
Any opinions on the right choice there?
Was doing well after the break until my AA was cracked by QQ and then a few hands later same guy pushed allin and I called in BB with AK.
He had A8 suited and rivered the flush to knock me out.
About 320 played and there was 230 odd left at the break and I think I noticed just about everyone did the addon.
1st paid about $1600 and 40th about $50
Thought the risk/reward was decent and suited me buyin size wise.
Thought it was a good format with the knockout bounty as well.
8 out of 10
only ciriticism is the graphics and colors are hard on my eyes and a couple of times I confused the pot at top of table for the players bet right above it, and folded instead of called..Comment -

#46Oh btw... at the time I had to do the rebuy I noticed the number of rebuys was just 12 less than the number of initial buyins.
I know that plenty would have done multiple rebuys (they were unlimited) but was among the few that almost got through without one as usual.
Still thinking this means I am playing 'wrong' (or differently to most at least) somehow.
