#37Nearly all the best made from the 3 accounts were made 1. from pokerplayer22's IP address, or 2. from pokerplayer22 calling into the sportsbook.
While it's certainly not a 100% thing, I thought the sportsbook was reasonable in concluding that Pokerplayer22 was controlling the 3 accounts to "bonus hustle" - each account received a sign-up bonus, plus a referral bonus to the main account (which turned $40 into $1200). If you accept that premise, Sportbet handled this dispute fairly.
If they were not using multiple accounts to circumvent limits, the book should just pay.Comment -

yeah those $40 bets on 3 accounts add up to some big money LOL!
pay the man and close the accounts if they can't handle a guy winning $1200 then they should close up shop.
if the accounts were depositing/reloading more than once and they didn't notice it then they had no problem when the accounts lost right?
like i said i'm glad justin got his $8200 that his friend transfered himComment -

Definitely ironic. Resolved too fast to become classic, though. The mystery of the forgotten e-mail account and forgotten zip code was never discussed (how exactly does a person forget where he lived?!) We know that Justin, by his own admission, knows every trick in the book. This could, possibly, have been more interesting, but I'm glad it was resolved before it did. (and I'm not suggesting that there was anything more to it; merely that there could have been).Comment -

#40Thanks for the support guys. I wish Sportbet felt the same way. Alot of the bets did come from my work IP address but the wagers that my friends made had nothing to do with me. My friends called sportbet when they found out of my payout difficulties and confirmed every single wager made on their accounts as well as offering to fax sportbet the receipts from all of their western union deposits. My friends also made multiple deposits which sportbet gladly accepted with smiles on their faces every time. Sportbet even told my friends that if they each sent them their id's and a utility bill that they would send me my payout but then after my friends paid to have their info scanned and sent, sportbet then changed their minds again and told me that they were going to in fact steal my money.
Sportbet is being very dishonest and corrupt with regards to this issue and are just pissed off that a player turned a measley $40 referral bonus into over $1200 (not that that amount is that much for a supposed reputable book). I also think its funny that Justin could get himself paid and not someone else. I guess I should apply for a job at SBR and then I can collect my $1200 from Sportbet.
The only thing left for me to do is to keep warning others against this corrupt, shady place.Comment -

#42Thanks for the advice acw, I will try to contact John and see what comes of that and I'll keep you posted. Part of me does believe that Justin made a small attempt (1 call) to have sportbet pay me my money, but it is pretty disappointing that he (of all people, someone who had issues with these crooks in the past) couldnt get them to issue the payout. I do believe that if I would have offered Justin a percentage of my cashout, that I would have gotten it. It seems like the bottom line around here is...Money talks!!!Comment -

#44Durito, you are wrong. I didnt take any shot. The accts in question were not mine and sportbet knows it. The account holders did everything possible and everything sportbet asked of them to verify that the accts were theirs. Also sportbet continued to take deposit after deposit from both me and my friends with big smiles on their faces. And i do think that Justin made a call and tried to help, i just think that if it was his own money, he would have tried harder, like maybe making a 2nd call. And I am not the only person who has had problems with this corrupt place, just read all the posts. I guess everyone else who got screwed over by this place is wrong and sportbet is just the greatest book in the world and there is just a big misunderstanding.Comment -

#45There are only two options:
1) You and your friends took a shot at the book and got caught
2) You aren't very bright
Betting multiple accounts from the same IP is a no no. An A book probably would have paid. Sportbet is not an A book. I think they should pay you, but I understand why they didn't. Learn from it and move on.Comment -

#46Durito, i understand to not use such bad, corrupt, unreliable books and to be honest, over the last 3 years, i have only played with the "A" rated betjamaica. What sportbet did though is ridiculous and wrong. An answer to your question...maybe Im not that bright. A co-worker and I who work for the same company cant each have an acct? Would sportbet have preferred we committ fraud and have my co-worker deposit and play in my acct or vice versa? That is ridiculous. Sportbet took every deposit made from both me and my friends/coworker ever too willingly with big grins on their faces. If i wouldnt have requested a cashout and deposits were continued to be made, they would have kept smiling while pocketing mine and my friends money. This only became a problem when someone tried to cashout. Sportbet looked for any loophole they could find to be a no-pay book and save a few bucks not caring about their reputation. They are completely wrong and they even know it. The problem is that their reputation has been shot for so long that it doesnt even matter any more so screwing one more customer and having that customer go onto forums doesnt matter. Everyone on here knows what a shady, corrupt outfit they areComment -

#48I'm not really sure why you would want to donate money to an organization like sportbet when you have 0% chance of getting anything back. If you are a wealthy person looking to make a charitable donation, it is very noble of you and I can get you the info on a few very good worth while charities. However, if you are looking to gamble, I would suggest any one of 326,891,406 better books out there.Comment -

#50They didnt pay out anything. Both of my friends that i referred each made multiple deposits but never requested a cashout. Sportbet opened up their grubby hands and gladly accepted each and every deposit and took every wager my friends placed, never saying a word. Approx 2 weeks after one of them opened their acct, sportbet put $40 in my acct as a thank you for referring someone. Over the next 2 weeks I built the $40 up to $1200 again without sportbet ever complaining about anything. Then i requested a cashout and it was then and only then that they gave me a hassel and decided to steal my money. Im sorry but that is complete bullshit and i think anyone that thinks otherwise is wrong.Comment -

#52Yes, I am not sure of how many total deposits my friends made but it was at least a couple in each acct. They lost every cent every time they deposited. I only received a $40 referral bonus for each of my friends accts when they made their initial deposit, not on all the re-ups. I had nothing to do with the accts in question, other than the fact that i referred them to this corrupt site and that one of them is someone that i work with. Sportbet opened their grubby hands to recieve every single deposit my friends and I made to them. I can only imagine if my friends had gotten on a good streak and tried to cashout for a couple thousand. From reading other people's posts about this shady place, sportbet is a place that looks for every single angle and loophole for ways to screw their customers when it comes to cashouts. I just cant believe there is nothing I nor any moderator can do. The only thing I am left to do is to warn people away from these dishonest thieves so others dont get screwed like i did. There have been so so many complaints about these people that I doubt they care about their reputation anymore. What else can I say...You live and learn...Shame on me for playing with a book with so many terrible reviews.Comment -

#53Sportbet must not have much financial backing if they choose to stiff a player out of $1,200. Player should've been paid. I predict sportbet will be out of business in less than 6 months. Get your money out now. Hopefully nobody else gets stiffed before this shop closes up. Pokerplayer your at fault for not reasearching sportbet before you sent them a deposit. You would of found out what a lousy book they are.Comment -

#55Hooch. you are absolutely right. I should have done my research and realized that there is a reason that corrupt sportbet is not an "A" book. I also could have read all of the complaints about this place and i wouldnt have given then one penny. I still didnt expect a "so called B rated book" to outright steal my money from me. Maybe i expected some slow pays or bs line changes or other miner dishonest things like what happened top others at this dishonest outfit. Never did i expect them to outright steal my money. From talking to Moe over at sportbet, at least they catered in lunch for the entire staff on my dime. Hopefully everyone ate well.Comment -

#56I don't like to refer or be referred by anyone, for precisely this reason.
When you think about it, of course people you work with would be the ones who you would refer, those are people you hang with all day and talk sports. And, it follows, they would have the same IP.Comment -

#62Maybe we should give your rep at betphoenix the phone number for the corrupt Moe over at sportbet. Maybe he can talk some logic and sense into him. Like you said in a previouis post, isnt every single referral always going to be a friend, coworker, collegue, etc? From reading other threads about this crooked site (sportbet), even if i wouldnt have referred anyone, they would have found some other excuse not to pay me like they did many others. They are just that type of no-pay book. This was just a conveniant excuse for them to use.Comment -

Sportbet is not crooked. Sportbet has no outstanding no-pay complaints. I wasted hours of my life investigating your dispute. You contradicted yourself during the investigation (did they play from work? Or during your poker parties 3 times a week at your house, where they placed all their internet bets). You lied to OSGA, making up things that SBR never said. You lied to me when I asked you about it. You lied to Sportbet when you identified yourself on telephone as various different people. You continuously misrepresent the facts of this dispute.
You're obviously free to post what you wish, but as I warned you privately, I'll continue correcting your factual misstatements.Comment -

#64You keep saying what ever you want Justin. You got your money..what do you care. I never denied making wagers on a friends acct or wagers being made from my work computer. You never answered my question. First of all, my friends accts were theirs...not mine. Secondly, if sportbet did suspect that i had an interest in all 3 accts, then why did they continue to take deposit after deposit after deposit after deposit from my friends if they had no intention of ever paying any money out? That seems very dishonest and corrupt. Also, you claim sportbet has no negative reviews...Just look on your own webiste...good lordComment -

#66Once again you are wrong Justin. Why didnt sportbet give you the tapes of all of the wagers made out of my friends accts so you can see that it wasnt me??? #68You attempted to defraud Sportsbet. You closed out your account except for the referral bonus, and attempted to open your fourth account.
1) Justin claims that you took all your funds out except for the $40.
2) You then attempted to have a 4th Friend open an account and deposit.
Do I understand that right? If so, how much did you withdraw from your account and how much did the friend attempt to deposit? What was the time line on this last transaction that Justin claims took place?Comment -

#70Justin has alot of the facts wrong. He is telling you the bs that sportbet told him. At the time i was given the bs $40 referral bonus, my acct balance was 0 and i wasnt even playing there so im not sure why justin said that i took all my money out except for the $40. My friends simply asked what sites offer decent bonuses so i sent them to the corrupt sportbet, not knowing it was corrupt because the places i play at dont offer great bonuses, (legendz, thegreek) Although those places actually do pay. That $40 bonus is the $40 that i turned into $1200. I am not sure how many deposits my friends made. I am only guessing that one of my friends made 2 deposits but i think my coworker made at least 5 deposits...all of which they had no chance of ever cashing out a dime. That, in my opinion is completely bs. My coworkers acct is the one that i made some wagers out of and we made wagers from both his computer and mine at work. I am not denying that i made wagers in his acct but that is no reason to take my $40 referral bonus away and the money i made from it.Last edited by pokerplayer22; 05-28-09, 11:13 PM.Comment
