    4k mistake?
Edit by SBR: BetOnline management has confirmed the player can keep the chip dumped funds and subsequently earned sports winnings. However all three players (the original poster and the two players who dumped to him) shared the same IP, and will need to send ID and utility bill to complete the KYC process. Once the poster sends his ID and utility bill, he can proceed with his payout request as normal.

Man wish I would have known about this site/forum sooner. Would have saved me all the trouble I am going through now. So I have been with betonline.ag for 2 years now. They have always been decent to me, timely payouts getting bonuses etc. Well I ran into a problem this week, basically 2 friends who owed me money $400, and $1000 sat down with me at same poker table and lost those amounts to me (you f**ing idiot, I KNOW) This was done heads up at PLO cash games tables during separate times and I left the table immediately after. I transferred the money to my sports account and cashed out some of the money and it got rejected, I received an email asking for an explanation for the 'chip dumping'. At this point I was able to still log into my poker account and still could log into betonline.ag. I replied to the email and said about the friends owing me money etc. I received a reply back saying my poker account would be suspended until it could be reviewed. So I cannot log into my poker account but I am still able to log into the website and place wagers. Obviously I win almost every bet I place this week (WNBA unders and Red Sox overs) and win about 4k. According to their terms and conditions its looks like I am just basically at their mercy. My only defense which I emailed to them was that I was playing heads up so nobody was being colluded against, and my 2 friends made cash deposits through ** so not like they used a CC and can charge back or whatever. I know this was stupid I didn't really think it was a big deal until I did some research on chip dumping and understand why poker rooms have to crack down on it the way they do. I cannot talk to anyone on the phone or live chat I am just being told to wait for response via email, am I screwed here or is there any hope?

What about the original money I had in account before winnings? And if they were would forfeit winnings why not just not let me wager? Almost like a freeroll for them then. Do I have any leg to stand on as far as getting money on my account?

Once you chop dump you forfeit all rights to that account including the funds in it. Why didn't they just cash out and send it to you. If they owe you $400 and can't pay that cash maybe they shouldn't be betting.

It sounds like you made a good argument to be shown some mercy if they are able to do that under the poker software regulators terms.

Not a lot else you can do for now.

That was a idiotic mistake from you, why you not tell your friends to send you money via another way if you badly needed it and it was urgent.

Yeah they where just allowing you to lose the money but you ended up winning for nothing.

IMO it was YOU essentially GIVING them a freeroll with your bets after the chip dumping incident. I think it's fair for you to get whatever you had in your account before the chip dumping and then be shown the door. I hope they let you have it all though! Please update us, and good luck!

That's a bit harsh. Chip dumping used to be quite common just 5 years or so ago. Maybe before black Friday.

they probably shouldn't be betting or playing poker but if I didn't get the money from them online I probably would have never got it. They were both on upswings in poker and asked if they could pay me and I didn't really think anything of it until I started reading around here and saw how people had accounts frozen for similar situations

I see nothing wrong with this, besides dont they get a little bit of the rake. Also how can you prove chip dumping, dont think you really can.

Well the fact he admitted it is pretty good evidence

It's wrong because it's money laundering.

If your sportsbook balance had enough to cover the wagers prior to the chip dumping, all wagers should be honored. If you dipped into the dumped chips credit, it is much more complicated. When your friends dumped chips and you wagered with the money, Betonline now has two possible headaches: 1. Your friends claim their account was hacked. If your wagers lost, you free-rolled them. 2. Your friends' deposits fail (or have a charge back). Now, your dumped chip credits let you free roll Betonline. If your wagers win, your account got the benefit of your friends' chargebacks. If it lost, oh well.

One reasonable solution might be to see what percent of your account was legit, and what percent was from dumping. For example, if you had 1k in your wagering account, and received 1.5k in dumped chips, 40% of that balance (1000/2500) was yours. In that situation, letting you keep 40% of the winnings (or losses) could be fair.

Thanks for the reply, basically my problem is with how the situation is being handled. My account wasn't under 'investigation' until I requested a payout, and even then I was still able to place wagers and log into poker software. It was only after I replied to their email and said yea my friends lost some chips so me on purpose that they disabled the poker software, but I am still allowed access to the sportsbook. If they would have just disabled my account from the beginning then that would make sense, but it was only after I requested a payout that an investigation started.

                                Hi thebutlerdidit,

Thanks for sharing with the board. It is not uncommon for sportsbooks to audit poker activity when funds are requested, as most are not equipped with PokerStars level systems to immediately spot chip dumping. Players who haven't intentionally chip dumped would never know the difference, there is nothing unusual from the sequence you shared.

We've asked for comment from management on your post, but it looks like you haven't written in to SBR with your BetOnline account ID.
