Maybe I'm just being a grumpy old man, but I'd like your opinions in regards to requests for ID from, in this case, bodoglife..
I signed up on their british site bodoglife.co.uk and deposited a small amount of money by debit card, I placed a bet and won, then I requested my withdrawal.
The next day I had an email saying that my account had been locked and can I please send them 1. a scan of my passport or drivers license, 2. proof of address, 3. front and back of my debit card and 4. a completed credit card payment form.
I've had this before, so sent through the scans, but I don't have a printer so I couldn't complete the form. I figured seeing as it was a Credit Card form and I paid by debit card, maybe it wouldn't be required. Of course they came back saying I need to complete the form, I told them I had no printer and could I write out the stupid form by hand, sign it and scan it - they said no. They suggested I go to a library and use the printer.
A week later I got a friend to print it for me, I filled it out, scanned it, sent it back. 24 hours passed with nothing from them, I sent another email asking for an update - then they quickly replied and asked if I could please call them "to discuss the status of my account".
Does this seem like too much bureaucracy to anyone else? What is there to discuss? It's a very small amount I'm trying to withdraw, are bookies getting increasingly underhanded and desperate, trying to hold onto any money they can?
I'm going to phone them tomorrow, but I'm just frustrated that I'm putting so much effort into getting my own money back - risking my money on a bet should be the risk, the risk shouldn't be wether or not the bookie decides to pay out.!
