    bodoglife ID requirements
Maybe I'm just being a grumpy old man, but I'd like your opinions in regards to requests for ID from, in this case, bodoglife..

I signed up on their british site bodoglife.co.uk and deposited a small amount of money by debit card, I placed a bet and won, then I requested my withdrawal.

The next day I had an email saying that my account had been locked and can I please send them 1. a scan of my passport or drivers license, 2. proof of address, 3. front and back of my debit card and 4. a completed credit card payment form.

I've had this before, so sent through the scans, but I don't have a printer so I couldn't complete the form. I figured seeing as it was a Credit Card form and I paid by debit card, maybe it wouldn't be required. Of course they came back saying I need to complete the form, I told them I had no printer and could I write out the stupid form by hand, sign it and scan it - they said no. They suggested I go to a library and use the printer.

A week later I got a friend to print it for me, I filled it out, scanned it, sent it back. 24 hours passed with nothing from them, I sent another email asking for an update - then they quickly replied and asked if I could please call them "to discuss the status of my account".

Does this seem like too much bureaucracy to anyone else? What is there to discuss? It's a very small amount I'm trying to withdraw, are bookies getting increasingly underhanded and desperate, trying to hold onto any money they can?

I'm going to phone them tomorrow, but I'm just frustrated that I'm putting so much effort into getting my own money back - risking my money on a bet should be the risk, the risk shouldn't be wether or not the bookie decides to pay out.!

Yeah, that is bullshit but it sounds like standard procedure. If you use a credit card or debit card they will always require the mumbo jumbo paper work. I remember having this same problem years ago, all the way down to having to find a fax machine and printer. The only way that I would send a modest amount of money now is through ** or Moneygram. Most good books wont require any bs upon withdrawal using this method. But I always call and ask before depositing.

Also, I don't know if you recieved any bonuses or if there are rollover requirements in your case. If you deposit, place one bet and want to cash out, the book is going to charge transfer fees. Anyway unless your betting a large amount it wouldn't be worth the effort for 1 game, regardless how you look at it.

      Bro,
deposit via CC or DC usually requires you to send Identification documents..
I personally do not use CC since I am not confident enough to send such private information to my bookie..
It would be up to you if you really trust your bookie regarding this kind of thing..
      Goodluck..

I think blowdog was one of the 1st sites I used for sports gaming, after they changed their ownership the company went to .....after over a 4 month delay on a payout I never returned again. Apparently they are in major financial trouble with numerous checks bouncing and even longer delays on payouts. I got the same run around when it came to withdrawing, after sending them fax after fax I was finally cleared, the response to me was we are only trying to protect you as a customer, my reply was this should have been handled before my initial deposit ever cleared if you are really that concerned about my personal information. Like most other trash sites it's not any problem getting money into the site but when it comes time to get it out it becomes this major problem. Only advice I can give is bug them and harass them until you finally get what is rightfully yours. Call customer service 10 times per day and ask the same questions over and over, type out an email and save it to Word then cut and paste it to blowdogs customer support and send it 25-50 times per day, I guarantee you will get their attention. I would also advise once you get your $ out find another sportsbook.

google: "problems with bodog", and you will see numerous complaints/articles from customers dealing with the same issue.

            Bro,
I think that their withdrawal problems was fix long ago..
I am not so sure if they still have this kind of problem..(It's been awhile since I use my account with them)
Maybe I will try to access my account and check this myself..Anyway thanks for the info.

They did. I recieved my check within a few business days, very impressed.

sticky, ID requirements have always been the policy and that is almost everywhere. Maybe you should of read the terms before you deposited.

Just relaying my experience, don't know if they fixed it or not and really don't care. For myself it only takes one time giving me the run around and I'll never return again, it's not like there aren't lots of other sportsbook to choose from (now that I live in Vegas I don't have to worry about it). Like I said after I sent in all the required documentation and was cleared my check was still delayed months. Every time I would call to get a status on when I would receive it I got a different answer, usually they would say it will be there by the end of the week and it never was. If it is going to take 4 months to receive payout then tell me that and stop wasting my time is my point. If people are recieving payouts within a few days I'd guess they are among the lucky ones. I haven't used blowdog since around 2003 so if things have improved I wouldn't know, but even if they have I would never go back to that trash site.

bodog's payouts are faster than some of the A+ books on this site. I'm not saying they won't regress in the future, but they are top notch right now.
