If nothing else it will stop people either thinking Pinny is dodgy for using a Curacao license, or that a Curacao license was worth more than the paper it was printed on just because Pinny used one.

I don't think it means much
The UK gaming licenses are the toughest and most respected licenses to get

It's probably the "best" license they can get that allows them to keep their odds margins the same

Remember that under the previous owners they had an Alderney licence for a while but turned it in when an investigation of them was on the cards.
Not checked recently, but Malta was in the declining number of European regulators that did not absolutely require player funds separation.

Yes but they are growing. These days the major ones seem to abandon traditional caveat emptor after experiencing one or two high powered failures. Although in the case of UKGC they were already planning to.

having a Malta license is better that a curacao, but in the past Malta license books went down and the gambling comission did nothing.

That was when the UKGC still clung to its old practice of caveat emptor, or maybe in this case caveat lusor. They had already launched a consultation into player fund protection. Those bookies that quit the UK market were not only thinking of the tax angle, but also that they shortly will have to report their player fund financial position to the UKGC on a weekly basis.

I wonder how long it takes to get UK gaming license??
Isle of Man is good in that they are genuinely interested in dealing with complaints, but Malta is pretty good too. They also have recently revamped the Malta Gaming Authority (previously LGA) and apparently have stepped up the level of regulation.
