Could not blame people for those sort of estimates, that poll was conducted during the frenzy of the all time high.

I do not know because the buzz seems to be gone with bitcoin at least for now

I still think one of the things holding it back is confusion

Agree. When a PayPal style service makes it dead easy to use the price will increase.

+/- 5% everyday is a bigger hindrance. imagine if an older non tech savy person went to the bank one day to deposit some money into a savings account and the bank teller said the only accounts we have available fluctuate multiple % each day. they would go home and put their money under the mattress.

                    That is the biggest issue.

Also the entire concept of Bitcoin is to cut out the big centralized bank type institutions. Everything is peer to peer.

I used coinbase a couple years back when I was a noob to Bitcoin, but now I'm happy keeping in anonymous peer to peer.

I have to agree this is great news for 5dimes members, and hopefully they will increase the free BTC withdrawal limit as it becomes more popular for its members. As long as there isn't to many hours of lag time before when you know its in your wallet until you can convert it, you really shouldn't get stung to much on the price fluctuation.

Couple questions, I have a wallet on my phone and already created an account at coin base. Now what do I do? Using coin base to buy btc then send to the wallet on my phone? Then contact 5dimes or heritage for their btc code to send the btc over from my wallet on my phone? What do I need from the books when requesting the payouts? I don't understand this crap!!

You've pretty much got it. If you get on chat at 5 dimes they will send you the complete instructions via email with the wallet address they want you to send it to(it changes periodically)/ They will also have you send an email to them once you have sent the transfer with your wallet address, there wallet address, and some other information so they can properly credit your account. I usually also include the hash just in case. Then you will get notified via email in a few hours that they have received it, and you will see it in your account balance.

Thanks for your help. But what the hell is *hash*? That I have to included in the email with books when deposit?

Its basically the transaction id for just your specific transfer between your wallet and the 5 dimes wallet. You will see it when you check the recent transactions coming in and out of your wallet.

You don't have to include it, but I always do as an extra precaution and/or proof of the transfer. Believe me, the easier you can make it for 5dimes to find it the better, as they have multiple wallets they are directing people to.

Ok guys...this is a very encouraging sign...I too am longing for the old days of Neteller and the quick and seamless payouts...

Quick question on this new initiative at 5Dimes:

So any 5Dimes account holder can withdraw once a week, up to $1,000. I am reading up more on BitCoin, but if you want to transfer out $1,000 in bitcoin, does that come in non-whole number increments...like 2.35 bitcoins?

For example, if Bitcoin is currently at $400, to withdraw $1,000, you would need 2.5 bitcoins...is that done out to multiple decimal places if the numbers aren't that clean?

Yes, bitcoins are basically infinitely divisible. 2.35132 is acceptable.

Submitted a bitcoin payout request to 5D 2 days ago. Acknowledged, but not yet delivered. Kind of defeats the purpose of bitcoin. I'm not looking for a 30-minute response. But I think one business day is more than reasonable in terms of expectation.

5Dimes is a great book imo but you will never have to wait a day for a withdrawal with true bitcoin books.

Once the game ends the winnings will be back in MY wallet within 5 minutes tops. NFL/NBA/Tennis, etc can be in my wallet before my TV feed even catches up with the lag and the game is over.

With DirectBet you place your wager by sending a set amount of coins to an address, when the game is over if you win they send the wager and winnings in coins back to whatever bitcoin address you tell them too. It's not the best for American Sports, but they have great odds on Tennis if that's your thing. Usually better than Nitrogen especially if you like dogs.

I don't hold enough funds to care. To me it's just another gamble, just one that I'm not paying vig on. If you are a person who strictly is looking to arbitrage then Bitcoin probably isn't for you.
