SBR is giving them a B but I haven't seen much discussion about them here... Anyone have any recent experiences with them? I played with them several years ago and just recently got a decent reup offer from them in the mail I was thinking about doing...

Herbie, if you go into the search engine and type in "sportbet.com" you'll see a number of discussions with regards to this book.

The general consensus seems to be that they are on a one-way trip downhill. I played there for a year or so a while back, and back then they were a decent book but certainly unstable at times. There was also little doubt that they seemed to value their repuatation and grading at SBR so any issues seemed to be handled quickly; Now it appears that they really don't give a rat's ass in terms of their repuatation here.

I play with them, and haven't had any negative experiences. Limits seem low ($500 online for me), but I have no complaints.

If you beat them good your online limits will be 100.

Yeah, I was going to say that $500 seems very high for this place, but to be fair I think I did in fact start out at that total myself. But it didn't take them long to turtle, as I was reduced first to $300 and then very shortly theresfter to $100. Sportbet also has a very detailed and humorous T & C on what does and does not count towards rollover requirements (At least they used to; not sure now). I came away from it wondering if anything counted, and sure enough when I requested my first withdrawal (7 months and literally hundreds of wagers later) they actually told me I hadn't completed my rollover, which was completely hysterical as I had in fact done so many, many, many times over.

I show that limit too, well on Island Casino... However, I also have listed call in limits around $2k-$3k. Has anyone tried calling in bets with them and getting those limits...

Island Casino and Sportbet are basically together, although you can get bonuses from each, just make sure you are aware... When looking for information you could also search for Island Casino...

I am not into horse racing but a couple of weeks ago, I threw some bets out for fun and as I ran through all my outs I was quite surprised with ICs Racebook... Lots of tracks, anyway off topic just fyi...

i don't see what the problem is with them? i had a great experience. i played with them for football. great bonuses, tons of props, and customer service was outstanding. i cashed out for 3k, 1k was credited to my cc in 3 days, and i rec'd a check for the remaining amount the following week. if you are looking for props this is certainly a place you should look at

I have had NO problems whatsoever with them. CS has been great and so has wagering, cashed about $500 or so 3 months ago, got it via ** in 5 days, plus i love their best bet bonus, you get 15% on top of whatever you win on one bet per week

I had a kind of scary experience with sportbet a few months ago. I had used them once, blew my wad and moved on. Then out of the blue I get an email telling me I was eligible for 300 cash bonus on a 300 deposit with some really low rollover(if memory serves me it 4 times). I don't usually get to excited about bonuses, but this sounded to good to be true. So I emailed back and got a moneygram name. I sent the 300. When I got back to my office, I decided to logon onto sportbets website, and noticed the phone number I had in my email and the email adresses didn't match up with the promo I recieved. I called sportbet and spoke to Jake ( i think that was his name). He told me someone had gotten some customer info and the email was bogus. He put a 100 in my account for my trouble, and I went back to the ace cash express and cancelled the moneygram and got my 309.99 back. Everyone was nice but it was a little troubling that someone had
my information, and if I had taken the phone number in the email with me to the ace cash express, i would have called on my cell phone with the mtcn and my money would have been gone. Fortunately it all worked
                        out.

Never any problems here with Sportbet. When I lost they kept my money and when I won they paid me. I am planning to reload soon. They have a nice promotion right now.

I agree with the going downhill comment. But compared to the other books that are available, maybe "B" still makes sense. It seems like everyone is finding some way to suck these days.

How can one play in a book that puts your limit on $100 after you win bet or two? Maybe Justin has $500 cause he is a VIP

Did'nt you go public with the problems you were having with this shit book?

Sportbet's Jake the Snake has a history of screwing over the player. The only thing he does right is when he gets busted on the forums, then the bettor gets his funds returned to him. I just think of all the bettors that do not know about the forums that Jake has gotten away with screwing. My recommendation: STAY AWAY.

Frank is correct. I opened up an account with them a couple of years back and my limits were reduced to $100 in less than 2 weeks.

I closed my account, forfeited my bonus and will never go back.

I think it depends on what you bet. If you bet anything that hints of steam, you get reduced limits. If you just line shop (no teasers), they will let you stick around longer.

Sportbet is starting to promote heavy for foots, I've been getting plenty of calls and emails. That being said, I was a loser overall there last season so probably being targeted.

Wise choice to take a pass on Sportbet. Lots of better options. It would have been a non stop headache. Plus if you do want to give away money, there are alot of worthwhile charities that could use the donation. Good Luck!!!

Sportbet was recently acquired by 5Dimes. There should be some big improvements to come, likely after football season.

Bill, Will they be closing down Sportbet/Island and moving customers to 5dimes? Or will they still keep those sites open and separate with 5dimes just backing them?

The websites and accounts for them will remain. Part of the attraction to 5Dimes was that the two brands are 10 years old. I think we'll see each book with their own promotions and perks. Each one has a great name and I hope they remain for the long term. We've seen too many of the pioneer books bolt or get folded in.
