to sum it up....if you are winning player they instantly limit you and you dont like them, and if you are a loser you like them cause they let you play.

    all agree?

most of the times this is true.

I am limited at ladbrokes just like I would be booted from a live casino for counting cards at blackjack. That is not a reason to call ladbrokes or the casino as being "not good"

I don't like recreational bookies in general but I don't say about them that they are "not good". They are good at providing entertainment for people who will lose money inthe long run just like casinos.

        Well I disagree.

And it comes down to the meaning of the word "bookmaker".

I grew up to understand it was a guy who would make a book on an event and would fearlessly lay his odds to all-comers. That is the way it was (and generally still is) on Australian racetracks.

These corporate cowards are not "bookmakers". They are simply bean counters who follow the herd and have no knowledge of how to make a book. They know a lot more about the form of their customers than the contestants of the events they are betting on.

Call them "good" if you are that way inclined but please not "bookmakers".

As I said they are recreational bookmakers. They invented this "branch". It's somewhat disguting, I know, but it's not like they are hiding what they are doing. Squares can still win there and they will get the red carpet treatment. As long as they bet on odds below what the market is offering the "bookmakers" know these guys will lose in the long run. They are like a casino where the house always win. If they spot a guy that will actually beat them in the long run he is out, just like in any other casino.

We agree to disagree because I think they are doing a good job at taking people's money. Just look at their yearly profits... it's disgusting just like any other casino but they are profitable, they treat their square customers very well. Of course any sharp guy that gets the boot will complain and call them cowards or bad bookmakers, but for every such guy there are other hundreds of people that are happily playing and losing money there. lol

I am not saying I support such model of business. I don't agree with it at all. I am just saying that as a recreational bookmaker where sharp players are not welcome, they are good. Squares don't want to play at pinnacle. They want 140 props on each match and stuff like that and only rec books that don't welcome sharp winners offer such markets, and as a recreational bookmaker ladbrokes, will hill, paddy, bet365 etc. offer what most squares want and need.

I can understand that criteria to determine if a book is a good book or not are different according to people...It's clear that quality of payouts/reliability is very important.. However, i can't agree with people who say limits have no importance to clasify a book ! As far as i'm concerned, due to my own experience, Ladbrokes can't be considered as a gook bookmaker, impossible:
I opened an account, made a first deposit of 100 euros, and immediately after they blocked my account asking me for documents !!? I was a little surprised but no problem i sent them the required documents immediately. It took them about 10 days to verify them and unblock my account ! Then, i believed "good, i can now enjoy betting with my ladbrokes account", but no, not at all: 1st bet i tried to place, limited to about 6 euros, same thing for the second,...in fact same thing for any bet i tried to place !!! Explanation i had when i contacted customer service to know why these limits: people residing in some countries are automatically limited !!! I live in Zagreb, croatia, and so?? Is it a reason to automatically limit me at 6 euros??
Well, you can understand now that i can't agree at all when i hear Ladbrokes is a great book...

waiting for 10 days to get your account opened is the only bad thing here

limits and other things not bad !!! it is the system of the book like bet365 exactly

also your waiting for 10 days would not happen if you verified your account by documents firstly before depositing !!!
