I think its the same, I'm not sure what they are like now as they pulled out of the US market over 2 years ago, but back then they were very solid. your money is safe with them and they have fairly soft lines.

I think Bovada was created when Calvin Arye of Bodog.eu got pinched by the Feds. Although Bovada has a terrific website and software, I rate them very poorly as far as PAYOUTS. And if you cannot get paid, well then why play at that site.

Bovada.lv has paid me consistently since they were bodog. not the best lines but very reliable for years

is actually pretty reliable book, good for the teasers(best payout on multiple team teasers there is and a tie and loss is a tie) and underdog(like to bump the favorite .5-1 pt for football). But u can't buy pt and the payout usually take too long, about two weeks for both checks and wire.

bodog.eu is the new site that doesn't accept US players. the US site is bovada.lv mentioned. i wish bovada had better rewards/bonuses.

Don't use bodog/bovado

I would definitely say to stay away from bodog/bovada!
I've had a ton of bad experiences:
1) First of all they mess up lines all the time and then don't pay out. Just the other night I won two lines on a Washington receiver under yardage in the first and second half, but it wasn't until after the game that they called in no action. I complained and they said it was an error, that the player doesn't even play for Washington. When I wrote back calling them on their BS because he does play for Washington, they said it was meant to be another player so they gave no action even though I was using that bet on a receiver under in combo with RG3 going over.
2) Second last year they kept sending me these stupid promotional e-mails so one time I just clicked on one while bored and thought I'd play with a bit of the casino bonus to kill some time. Well they wouldn't let me use my original money back in sportsbook and obviously nobody is going to win in an online casino because they control the game, so I didn't even bother trying to meet the insane rollover that would have been about a year's salary so I lost all my sportsbook money.
3) Their customer service is awful, all they do is keep replying with generic responses.
4) The site has already been shut down and has all kinds of legal issues so it doesn't work in different countries. Myself I'm Canadian, but when I go to the US its a completely different site (bodog vs bovada) so I can't even bet when I'm in the US.

All in all this is an awful site that will screw you any way they can, probably why they've had so many legal issues.
I'd go Bet365 or any other big name site but Canadian banks don't deal with betting sites so I can't figure out a way to make deposits or withdraw money other than with bodog, which is so illegitimate it probably scams the bank security too.

A horrible sports book. Technology is Gawd awful. Good luck posting a live bet and they are the last of the major books to post any odds. Have spent countless hours on the phone with their IT people and they claim they don't have problems when you try to explain to them time and time again you always get a "log in" prompt when YOU'RE ALREADY LOGGED IN!!! Horrible service and unwilling to honor mess ups. It was laughable when I simply asked them to give me a credit for a wager I attempted to place and the solution was for me to "refer a friend." Why would I refer a buddy of mine to a service that sucks ass this much?
