    Minor Problem with BetED
I'm sure that the rules state that what they did is perfectly acceptable..

However, heres the thing that strikes me as weird.. I unknowingly made a deposit for $25 which resulted in NSF. I looked at my account today and because it resulted in NSF I lost $400.

    Is that fair?

    Just wondering.

Weird how I could lose $400 over a $25 deposit..

We need a full timeline of what happened, including when you originally deposited, when you won, when the $25 was deposited, how much you won after that, etc... and how was it done unknowingly?

I thought I had enough money in my account but turns out I didn't.

I'm gonna call them and get all the information.

        Okay so I called them...

I made the $25 deposit on the 20th of January. And I won $330 or so on the same day.

So they subtracted all the winnings from my available balance.

The only thing that worries me is that I can't withdraw yet and I've seen some problems recently with BetED and I don't wanna lose anymore money.

Ok, so you had a zero balance at beted, deposited 25, won 330, and then the 25 NSFd and beted erased the 330 winnings?

That is correct.. However, I played with the $330 and my account balance at the end of last night was up to $1700. I logged in today and found out that they erased the winnings of the wager I made on the 20th, plus the $25 NSF.

Have you made another deposit with them since then? I'm surprised your account balance isn't 0.

What else would you expect them to do?

An NSF is a free roll at the book.

Well before what they would do is let me deposit money into my bank and then re-send the money through.

So this wasn't your first NSF with them?

No, I've had NSF's and lost. So what they would do is close my account and make me put the money into my bank account.. Then call them and tell them to send the money that resulted in NSF through and then they would re-open it.

I would never try and scam them.. What happened was I'm in Washington now and my bank is in California. So I would deposit into beted and then send money to my Pops in California so he can put it into my bank. It didn't get there in time before the beted deposit went through so in the end I ended up getting a overdraft fee and NOW might lose all the money in my account.

Pretty quickly. I would have the money in the bank pretty much immediately and then I'd have to wait 10 days for my account to be re-opened OR I could show them a copy of my bank statement to get the account re-opened earlier.

What a weird case. In general, if the deposit is denied, the book is within its rights to void the winnings. If you really have promptly settled a bunch of NSFs, who knows. An argument can be made that they have the expectation of getting paid, and continuing to accept echeck deposits from you (and letting you play before they cleared) seems to indicate that they did. Somebody's going to have fun looking at the details of this one.

                                Yeah, I don't know.

I'm really just scared of losing the rest of the money in the account. I really need the $1300 lol. I'm broke as hell.

Lot of strangeness out of Beted this week!?

Writing a check before you put the money in the bank is illegal!
This is what you were doing!
If you lose and have a NSF, they will collect.
The rules state that when you win and have a NSF, then you lose all winnings!
                                    The rules are clear!
BETED has every right to confiscate your winnings! I know it sounds like BS that they can collect the loses, but dont have to pay the winnings, but thats the rules!

Saying "That's what the book's rules say", as a sole defense for anything a book does, should be an automatic 7-day ban.

Agreed, though in this case the rules (as written) would seem to pass the reasonable test.

However, their past actions may set a precedent contrary to the written rules.

Almost any book would not pay after a NSF!
If I had a NSF, I would not expect to be paid!

I could be banned for life and would not care a bit!
