If I started a new post up service, which is the last thing I would want to do considering the times, I would offer a 200% freeplay bonus on deposits up to a dime. The profile would be adjusted and I would eliminate all derivatives like parlays and teasers and require a 17x rollover as well as a 10% surcharge on the account withdrawal amounts for the promotion. The profile can be restored to a standard one after the player finished with the promotion. Would you take this bonus and can anyone figure out why this would work for the service and how it has value for a player? Just curious to see who around here has one type of shot in their quiver and who knows how to pull value out of less obvious shots. How would you crack this deal...
I would do this...

#2Works for service because freeplay balance disappears as it is used. So if you deposit 1k, you will have a 51k rollover. 2k will be in freeplay and as I use my freeplays up, I'm stuck with 1k cash trying to hit a 51k rollover. Good luck to me lol.
That being said as a player, I would still sign up.Comment -

#3be more specific about the 10% withdrawal fee
i deposit a dime run it up to 3 dimes and i clear my 17x rollover now i want to withdraw a dime. ok you charge me $100 for that.
2 months down the road i want to withdraw 2 dimes, are you still charging me 10% for that withdrawal?Comment -

#4The 10% would be applied to all withdrawals that are made off of the promotion. When the account balance goes to zero then the profile is changed back to the services standard profile which would be standard withdrawal fees and enabling of derivatives. So yes, every dime paid out will cost you a $100 or if less then 10% of the amount. This type of promotion is really best used for a certain type of shot and trying to pound rollover out is not the shot.Comment -

#5i think that would be a dumb way to do it. once you have funds in the account you want to give customers every incentive to NOT cash out. cashing out puts a strain on processors and increases the chances they'll switch books once getting their money.
once i cleared the rollover, i would withdraw immediately if the rules stated i must get my balance back to zero. i would do this so that future (and larger) withdrawals would be less expensive, and to get the derivative options back.
but what if when i request my cash out, it takes three weeks when it's advertised to take only 1? good chance i am thinking i dodged a bullet and not redepositingComment -

#6This is what I would do, turn that 2k freeplay into 1k cash in another book, then I have a 1k freeroll at your book.Comment -

#7Goomba has the right idea... I would move the principle as well and not have to run at the rollover. So you would have about a dime from the freeplay move and whatever you end up with moving the principle after vig. The balance now at the secondary service would have no rollover, then withdrawal +ev... So really, the service that offered this type of bonus is covered by a steep rollover even if it is a big bonus but also many sharp players will just move the whole balance over to another service and then pull funds.

#9So for example if I wanted to take this 200% WagerWeb bonus http://www.bangthebook.com/sportsboo...osit-bonus.php & try to move it to DSI, what's the most effective way to do so? Suppose it would depend on what WagerWeb's limits are. However WW rules state if you bonus pyramid, all winnings from bonus will be forfeited. And If you win all your bets at WW which is highly unlikely but possible, then plan backfires. As you would be stuck with a lot of $ in a questionable C+ book, & broke in your DSI account. #11Specific prohibited practices:Bonus Pyramiding
Taking deposited funds plus bonus and wagering the entire amount on a single event. Upon winning, taking your entire balance and wagering on a single event. This being repeated until meeting rollover requirements and withdrawing the money. Upon withdrawal, you will receive your deposited money and winnings on the deposited money.Example:The breakdown of this balance is $8,000 from the deposit and $1,200 from the bonus.Deposit: 1,000 Bonus: 150 Balance: 1,150 1st wager 1,150 to win 1,150 2nd wager 2,300 to win 2,300 3rd wager 4,600 to win 4,600 New balance 9,200
Withdrawal amount will be $8,000 and forfeiture of the $1,200Comment -

#12Thanks Bobby for the explanation. Is this a common foul for sportsbooks that you cannot put up to the bet limit your balance and any freeplay you have? I'm guessing in the example above, after the 1st wager, your freeplay would be used all up.
Then for wager 2 and onwards why is it a foul to go all in up to the bet max. I know I have chased 5k wagers trying to get even after going 0-5 for the day, I had no idea a book can all of a sudden steal my money because I am chasing.Last edited by goombah; 07-24-13, 02:26 PM.Comment -

#13If a sportsbook considers competition as war amongst sportsbooks, a book that offers such a bonus and can manage their risk properly definitely imo fires a bullet at the competition. As every person who properly takes advantage of such an offer, would use it to make their competition 1k poorer one account at a time.Last edited by goombah; 07-25-13, 12:28 AM.Comment -

#14Personally, I think it is a good strategy. As a sportsbook, I would offer that 200%, make my competiton poorer, collect all these bets from people who are trying to dump their balance so they can collect another 100-200%. Then lay it all off at a book like matchbook or betfair and collect the difference between -110 and whatever i can get at an exchange.Comment -

#15Touchback, given my experience I can for sure tell you people runs away from the rollover and given the case they accepted such a high rollover it would have to be cash, not a freeplay. We all here know freeplays have an actual 40% value (circa) and most big guys into depositing would know it as well. Touchback, I would recommend a lower percentage in cash with a slightly lower rollover so that everyone is happy. Let´s all face it whether you all like it or not, rollover is the only shield against withdrawals a book has after all the T&C, and that is why it needs to be taken in consideration.
Touchback, just do some thinking and planning well the stuff, I will personally welcome you into the bookies club.Comment -

#17I've often considered the whole mathematics of creating an attractive looking bonus that works in the house favour, whilst giving the appearance of being 'punter friendly'. The only method that would work is a variation on the old Canbet bonus, where the WR wasn't affected until your balance was £0. Add in a rule to remove the place a bet on long term event and role the bonus over loop hole, and have sensible limits, and you have a system that can offer 100% cash bonuses on decent odds and make a lot of money even if the player keeps winning.Comment -

#18just reading your idea off the bat i would do it and i am an example of the casual gambler who is trying to reach the next level in gambling. i can tell you you would attract all my friends and you would have us sucked in with that rollover. would we get the freeplay right away or earn it piece by piece like in 5 dimes?Comment
