UPDATE:
Yes, this is an actual update. I talked to Tony today via LiveChat. (Gasp)
Initially, Tony agreed to give me the $50 back, close out my account, and mail out a MO for the $50. We started to talk about the situation and he made it appear that if I answered his questions that I could keep the account along with the $50. We went back and forth where Tony treats you like a two-year old. Anytime I tried to veer off with my explanation, he asked to answer his question so I sat and listened to his side and had to 'agree' with him otherwise we went nowhere. There was a point that he stopped responding and I had to ask if he was still there. (It was because I didn't answer his question properly; I made it bold below)
At the very end, we didn't come any closer to resolving the issue than the beginning so he told me he would mail out a $50 MO and that I need to post on the forum that 'I won the claim' or else he will post our entire conversation.
Our conversation is shown below. But to answer anyone's question about talking to Tony like a human being and just agreeing with him -- No, that doesn't work either. I asked him as per his rules, why didn't they adjust the line properly then but he didn't have an answer. Also, he states that his rules don't say you can cancel it after the wager starts but where does it say that he can't cancel it. We all know that 5dimes would have immediately cancelled this wager if the +310 won and Tony would have argued that they handled it properly.
You are now chatting with 'Tony'
Tony: how can I help you today?
XXXX: Do you have a couple of minutes to view a post I made on SBR forum? That way I don't have to explain it again.. http://forum.sbrforum.com/sportsbook...n-welcome.html
Tony: and what is it you want me to do?
XXXX: I would like for the $50 to be credited back to my account because it was a bad line and I feel that it would have been voided if the +310 side won that is why I came to livechat before it was over to avoid this issue.
Tony: you read the rules in regards to how wagers are handled with clear line errors, correct?
XXXX: no I did not. I am trying to look for it now
Tony: so you post first, but don't read the rules
Tony: i think this is what i'm going to do for you
Tony: $50 credit to your account
Tony: your account is now closed
Tony: make your payout request
Tony: and we're done forever
XXXX: do I haven an option to keep playing at 5dimes with the credit? I enjoy playing there and I didn't even want to post about it on the forums but I didn't make any progress with Becky and Matt at SBR and felt that was the only way to get an opinion. I am sure this is a rare issue that occurred?
Tony: i don't want you as a customer any longer
Tony: so i'm paying you the $50
Tony: and for the $50, i am rid of you for life
Tony: as anyone who doesn't even bother reading the rules before running to a forum to cry is a client i don't need
Tony: so i'll make sure you get a $50 *********** in the mail, and you're done playing here
XXXX: okay I guess I can't convince you to keep me as a player since I didn't read the rules properly. Can I have the $50 done as a book to book transfer then?
Tony: i don't know of a book that would accept a transfer for so little
XXXX: I don't know what the requirements are for a transfer either. Honestly, I would like to stay at 5dimes but I don't think I can convince you otherwise? I really didn't want to post on the forum and I was only looking for everyones opinion on the matter so maybe I jumped a little too quickly and I should have gotten you instead of Becky originally.
Tony: becky ruled correctly on your case
Tony: had you taken the time to read the rules pertaining to your issue, then maybe you would have known that
Tony: but i'd rather pay you the $50 on a claim that you shouldn't win, than have you as a customer
Tony: "Immediately upon discovery, wagers placed on an event with an obvious erroneous line resulting from human error will be graded no action or voided."
Tony: "If a wager with an erroneous line is not voided before the game/play begins, Management reserves the right to remedy the odds to a fair market price which would have been available at the time the wager was placed. This price remedy may be applied during or after an event. Only the odds will be corrected on an erroneous line. The risk amount, applicable spread and total will always remain unchanged. "
Tony: let me know if there is anything unclear in regards to how these rules pertain to your claim
XXXX: I am not going to argue with you about the situation because I know that I couldn't change your opinion of the situation and I still have my opinion of the situation. I guess if there is nothing that I can do to keep my account with 5dimes, I can ask if you can do a $50 transfer to XXX
Tony: so you understand the rule or not?
Tony: we do not do transfers with "XXX"
Tony: no book i know of accepts transfers for less than $500
Tony: so you will be receiving a *********** payout in the amount of $50
XXXX: I guess there is nothing that I can say to keep the account?
Tony: i asked a question
Tony: a good start would be answering it
XXXX: okay - Yes, I understand the rule but my only question about that rule now would be that since it started and the rule stats you can adjust the line, why wasn't it ever adjusted when it is a known bad line?
Tony: what does it say we reserve the right to adjust?
XXXX: correct but why wouldn't you adjust since it was obviously bad? I understand your side of the argument but I just feel that it would have been voided if the +310 side won. I can't prove that but that's why I wanted it cancelled to avoid this
Tony: listen
Tony: if you don't bother answering my questions, then you have no chance of saving your account here
XXXX: okay oorry
Tony: so i suggest answering the questions as I ask them, or we are done here
XXXX: yes it says you reserve the right
XXXX: sorry*
Tony: ok, so what else in those rules is not clear?
XXXX: Nothing, I fully understand the rules for that type of wager now.
Tony: where does it say we are allowed to void a wager after play has begun?
XXXX: I didn't see it in the rules you pasted.
XXXX: Tony, are you still with me? Not sure if I lost connection
Tony: i'm here
Tony: you didn't answer my question
Tony: it was just a dumb statement
Tony: if you want my help, you need to answer my questions
XXXX: It Okay sorry, it doesn't say that you can void a wager after it has started.
Tony: so if it doesn't say it, how could i do it?
XXXX: Good point but I figured because it was a bad line that it would be voided upon discovery. As you mentioned earlier, I didn't read the full rules on the situation but felt that it would have been voided if the wrong side won. But to answer your question, I am not sure how you could do it if the rules don't state that you can.
Tony: so what do you want to do from here?
XXXX: I would like for the $50 be credited to my account and continue using 5dimes instead of having a $50 *********** issued. I have no intentions of ill-will towards yourself or 5dimes and want to continue using your book. I completely understand the rules on live-wager now and you won't have anymore issues from me but if I ever have an issue I will contact you first instead of going through any type of forum or mediation because you have been very fair. I will try to delete the thread on SBR
Tony: you live in a dream world
Tony: i just went over all the rules with you
Tony: made it clear that the wager made was properly handled by becky
Tony: and you still ask for the $50
Tony: have i correctly stated the facts?
XXXX: I still don't feel it was properly handled even though you have stated the rules as per your sportsbook. I still feel that the wager would have been cancelled as soon as the +310 won but I did read over everything that you have said.
Tony: you get the $50, you're gone
Tony: we're done here
Tony: go post in your forum that you won the claim
XXXX: The forum post was only to get opinions and possibly the attention of someone willing to look into the issue. At no point during the forum posts did I bash 5dimes as a sportsbook. I thought the purpose of answering all of your questions was to keep my account along with the $50. While I have read your rules, I don't agree with the gray area of the situation. As I have said before, I didn't think there was anything I could say to keep my account. I wanted to keep my account and receive $50 which I thought was due to me based on the error. If you feel that I shouldn't keep my account then I would like to confirm the information and address on the account so I can receive the ***********. Even after this conversation, I am not going to post that 'i won a claim' -- The rules that you stated about where does it say I can cancel a wager after it has started...where does it say that you can't cancel it? Whether you admit it or not, this situation was a rarity and in a gray area. I am sad to hear that I will lose my account over this small issue.
Tony: if you don't post, then i will post the entire chat
Tony: not a problem at all
Tony: so its up to you, as someone is posting
XXXX: I have no problem posting what we talked about. I am not sure why you wanted it to be posted
Tony: copy and paste the entire chat
Tony: or i will
Tony: confirm your mailing address
XXXX: XXXXXXX
Tony: *********** will be mailed within the next 48 hours, USPS
XXXX: okay
