I would just like to bring this to the attention of UK gamblers. I like to punt for long shots with place bets. I have got into on line betting. Cheltenham today passed the Bet Fred shop on Lea Bridge road,Leyton. Just had a feeling about Golden Chieftain Had a £1 place only bet. I got it at 40-1. A place bet would return £11. I also had a few others that came in. 2 33-1 places and 2 40-1 places. 33-1 place pays £9.25 to £1. 33-1 were £2 place bets and 40=1 were £1 place bets. 33-1 bets return £37. 40-1 returned £33. £70 in total. When I placed the bet woman checked prices and held them. Even said I like to go for 1/4 odds outside places than follow favourites especially in big fields of 20 plus runners. They were probably thinking this mugs going for all outsiders. Could not believe my luck when I got 5 out of 5. Could have been more but 4.pm was cancelled. Still not bad return on a £5 stake. Went down there to collect and they refused to pay because their machines could not work out 1/4 odds. I was telling them the odds and returns of the top of my head £70 in total. Got receipts stormed out protesting they are robbing bastards. 
Called head office giving receipt details and guess what? They do not accept place only bets. The bets would be treated as an each way bet! In short they would now only pay £61.50. Thank god I held Golden Chieftains price. She checked the bets and I even told her they were place bets and even though Golden Chieftain won I am only expecting quarter odds right? I've done this type of bet with all other bookies both in shop and online. They are the only ones that do not do place only bets. What pisses me off even more is the fact that they accepted the bet and took my money. Could have gone over road to Ladbrokes or got home and done it online at bet-fair but being the greedy C**ts that they are they just want to take your money. Every time I have placed a bet in a shop and have won I have had grief. I will never bet in a shop again. ESPECIALLY F*****G BET FRED. I wanted to post this to persuade people from using bet fred. No wonder on-line bookmakers are doing well if this is the kind of service you get from the shops. I have a double still on the go with them. Champagne Fever and At Fishers Cross. Just to spite the git's I am really hopping At Fishers cross comes in 'cos that'll be another £70 in winnings. What goes round comes round LOL. DON'T EVER USE BET FRED.
