whats the most money youd put in
Im curious as to how much money is too much, this is rhetorical just so you guys know, but how much money would you feel comfortable putting in. Personally i feel anything more then 100,000 in a sportsbook is tooo much to risk in the hands of someone else so at that point id withdraw my money, but what if you won a crapload of money but wanted to keep gambling with it, whats the max youd feel comfortable with the books having

I probably wouldn't feel comfortable with more than $20k in any book other than Pinny/BM/Greek/Match/WSEX. With those top tier pro books I'd still limit it to around 75k.

I know others would probably be fine with more than that and probably for good reason, but that would be my personal risk tolerance.

oh and another rhetorical question, lets say i was a millionaire and just put in 100,000 into an account for fun, and i played 3,000 dollar units and made 1 unit everyday, so theoretically that'd be over a million dollars, how much money do the big sportsbooks even have? What happens if you win more than they have, do they tell you to stop or let you keep playing in hopes that you'd lose? And if so what happens when you try and cash out, just a couple questions that i really cant figure out

$5,000 - $10,000 would be the max for me at the moment even in top rated books with no issues as that's what I'm comfortable with and I guess that's what it comes down to, your comfort plus the book you're dealing with. If I was concerned about having $500 in a book never mind $5,000 then I wouldn't bother playing there myself.

I leave no more than 2k in any of mine. Of course I am a smaller gambler than most. My average play is only $100. I just dont trust them that much these days. why let it sit there. If I lose then I can just put more in, so why the risk of letting them hold on to my money?

Well, at this time I have nearly $30,000 in the Greek, and I'm not concerned in the slightest, primarily because I've been in a similar situation multiple times over the last several years with respect to that sportsbook. I actually don't know at what amount I would be concerned to be honest, if at all. As Dwaechte noted, there are simply some books you feel more comfortable with, usually owing to reputation and of course personal experience.

Now that's the Greek....If I had $30,000 in Sportbook.com for example, then I would naturally assume that my funds were actually in the neighbourhood of $0.00.

E-wallets mean there's no point or benefit to leaving a balance in any book. I have had $20,000 in one place while doing a bonus rollover though, although most of it was winnings so wasn't too nervous.

Americans don't have that luxury. Some of us also had neteller hold our money hostage for half a year.

Although I'm now outside the USA, I still prefer to keep my larger balances at pinnacle/greek than in my neteller account.

Speculator, I have been able to withdraw very easily. I took out $4,000 US on Thursday, then again this past Monday. At no point have I felt that they do not want my business, as they continue to be very professional and both withdrawals (Via Moneybookers) were completed within 8 hours. I might also point out that I have been very successful with regards to their sportbook since I first joined up in 2001, and at no point have I been threatened with account closure.

Now this is the Greek I'm talking about, of course. Apart from them, Pinnacle and BetCris, there are absolutely no books I would feel comfortable with keeping such a large balance. Perhaps LadBrokes on the other side of the Pond, but they are fairly quick to cut limits so I have never felt them to be overly useful.....

Anyway, just my personal experience. Hope it helps.....

I like having no more than fix or six times my largest bet in a book. They are NOT banks, and it is MY MONEY we are talking about.

Now this five or six times largest bet assumes easy money entry/exit (Moneybookers). If I was a USA citizen, I would probably go for 10-12 times my largest bet, because of the hassles of funding.

USA citizens owe full tax on gambling income no matter what country they live in.

Don't think I'd bother with gambling if I had to pay tax. Back before 2001 in the UK there was a 9% tax on winnings, but with the internet that became uncollectable and it was driving books offshore, so they just scrapped it. Now there's no tax at all.

unless you renounce your US citizenship you still owe taxes. actually, according to recent congressional legislation you will still owe taxes for 10 years after renouncing your citizenship.
