In this case, the player can not claim they used a bot and want a refund. Basically the casino is waiting to see if the player wins or loses as to whether they enforce this rule, even if this is not their intention. Unless the rule is going to be enforced fairly - which means investigating all video poker players who play a lot of hands - win or lose - the rule is not reasonable, and books who have this rule should not be able to get a high rating.
I agree. There's no way a casino is ever going to refund losses so as not to be hypocrites / free rollers, and essentially say, "Sorry your attempt at scamming us didn't go as planned with your bot. Although I'm sure you'd eventually have come out ahead in time, I'm going to have to refund your losses and close your account."

I dunno, they shouldn't take everything, something else must happen. However, I was going to say take 50% of all winnings, but that still would make a +EV game worth playing. If you're playing $1.25/hand 100.76% DW, playing 20,000 hands per day with a bot, that's $190/day. With this penalty, you're still making $90/day, and that's not factoring in your chance of getting caught, which would increase your theoretical winnings.

All this stuff (3rd big complaint I've seen on Tony, with him talking horribly to players, like he's a 15 year old on the web) has me scared now of using 5Dimes.

They are the only place that offers +EV games that I know of, and I'd really like to still play there. Even though I'm no bonus hunter, only bet very low amounts, take frequent breaks and don't play fast, and even bet on a sports game every week ($5 usually), I'm scared that I'm in danger for only playing +EV games. If I hit a Royal, will it be taken, even though it would only give me $200? And I do practice my play and analyze games on WinPoker, and consider myself quite versed in what plays to make down to the fraction of a penny. I could just see him saying, "I see you make perfect plays, and only play our promo games. You are not welcome."

So is Tony really this bad, and if so, is he gonna care about me "taking them" for nickels? Literally is less than $1/hr EV for me.

While I have no problem with anti bot rules - I'm too dumb to write one anyways.

I do have a problem with a casino (especially a big well respected one like 5dimes) allowing a player to play 20,000 hands per day or weeks (I'm not gonna read 24 pages to figure out how long this went on) when they are then going to say 20,000 hands per day proves bot play.

I can see not paying the guy if he won in one day, but if he played for many days or weeks or months, the casino is not competent and should pay him.

How much money did zabula make?

OK, just read through this entire thread. The only thing I'm confused about is how much money zabula actually made?

I know he made two withdrawals of 3,000. So that's +6K right there. But how much did he initially deposit? Seems like there's some speculation he deposited 3K... so that means he came out 3K ahead anyways. A pretty good take for a guy who used a bot I think.

I don't think anyone is claiming that 20,000 hands per day proves bot play. The problem was that there were break intervals in his play that were EXACTLY 491.3 seconds or 500.4 seconds etc etc for a few intervals in a row. That guarantees a bot was used.
