#37It's interesting how no one has questioned the voracity of this word 'banned'.
As though once uttered by a business, this business is immeadiatly anointed with a blank check to behave in any manner they choose, including behavior that even they would admit is criminal, had they not called 'shotgun' to get dibs on the front seat. (Akin to saying, 'banned' before the play in question began.)
The 'facts' regarding the game played DO matter, and matter alot. This was not 'smart' sports action that was in play.
If a book makes available an annomomously playable cartoon on the web to anyone willing to pay for the right to play it, they must accept the potential perils that accompany that game's variance.
Did the player effect the results of the game by 'cheating' in a manner consistent with tampering with, hacking, or in any way trespassing through the firewall of the software?
This question is of far more paramount importance than ANY other particular.Last edited by princecharles; 11-21-12, 03:38 AM.Comment -

#38Way to make a judgement based purely on hearsay
I truly hope that after all of your posts in the think tank looking for advice from advantaged gamblers that should you ever be fortunate enough to win any money gambling that you be subjected to deep examinations of your location, blood type, and dick size before you are able to cash out your winnings.
If you cannot provide travel documents to collect 41k, then you don't deserve that money, plain and simple.
I've had issues withdrawing before, they say send this, I send it, and problem solved.
Where Cory/his mom were two months prior is not a matter of national security, they could have sent an itinerary and been done, the fact that they haven't been able to confirms my believe that Cory played the hands.Comment -

#39I don't think the right ruling was delivered by SBR, have stated that many times. However I do think Heritage has garnered more bullshit in all this then they have deserved. When these so-called "watchdog" sites were started, BW (the site, not the player), Shrink, SBRJohn and so on would tell the books - come to the table and allow arbitration on any potential problems! If you do that, allow unbiased people to rule, allow the case to be made public, and then follow through with the final ruling nobody will ever have any right to complain about your actions. You will make players feel better since this is unregulated territory, you will make this industry stronger!
Now I know some people will argue Heritage should have never even went to arbitration. Although I can respect that view I disagree. It's been stated many times the player agreed to arbitrate this thing, but more than that I think for the system to work a book should have the right to ask for this process when they want clarification on something as well. I don't think it's unreasonable for a book to find out Cory was potentially involved and decide to let some fresh eyes take a look at the case. They never said they wouldn't pay, they agreed to abide by the findings of a moderator. Just like a player, I think a book should reserve the same right to do so.
What screwed this up was SBR. Sorry, that's the truth. Had they got it right, we can assume safely Heritage would have paid out the money like they were supposed to and everyone would have been happy. In short, since SBR got it wrong, now the book has come under a bunch of fire as well. I'm not here to play Heritage apologist, I don't even play there, but their actions were not only okay, they actually went above and beyond what any reasonable book would have done. First favorable ruling and it would have been over for anyone else. These guys clearly care about their reputation yet ended up taking it up the ass because SBR got it wrong. It's that simple IMO, SBR let them down.
Might be other reasons someone doesn't like Heritage, I'm not telling anyone they shouldn't. But what they did here actually boasted them in my eyes. If every book invested this much time and effort in getting it right the industry would be a hell of a lot better than it is. Ironically at the beginning we pleaded with books to allow players arbitration, now we find out if they do that and the judge gets it wrong the book still should take it up the ass. So we ask books to agree to arbitrate, but only follow the ruling when it benefits the player? Why have the process in place at all? If as a book (or a player) you abide by the ruling and still get heat why go there to begin with?
The wrong thing was done here but that falls 99.9% on the lap of SBR, it's that simple. Had they got it right and said pay the man, Heritage would have paid and it would have been hard to blame them. Of course not everyone would have been happy, that won't ever be the case, but most without agenda couldn't blame the book. They took up the offer of arbitration in this case and frankly no matter what they did couldn't have won in this situation. Player or book we should try and call it fairly, might be other reasons not to like Heritage but this isn't one of them. Just 1 man's opinion, carry on.Last edited by Patrick McIrish; 11-21-12, 06:51 PM.Comment
