    "A trip to wal-mart" question
Can you purchase a gift card from there with a CC and send cash to where it needs to go- anyone know?

I get "rewards" on the CC I own so just lookin for a little something extra from the transaction.

If you're at Wally World, you might as well hit up the ** or **, whichever one they have there. Fast, simple, and you don't have to worry about a hold or dealing with sending in documents when you withdraw, depending on the book you're using.

If you are using any card to send money by W u or M g at any agent location you need to have a pin #. If you have a pin# on a regular CC then you will get hit with cash advance fees. If you buy any pre-paid card and you have a pin# then you will just get charged like an ATM withdrawal fee.

So your question was can you buy a gift card and then use that card to send money W u/M g. The answer is yes, if that gift card you buy gives you a pin# and access to ATM machines. In my experience, when you buy these types of gift cards, you usually have to wait until your personalized one comes in the mail after you register it. This can take 1-3 weeks.

Usually it is hard to find places that will let you load these pre-paid cards using your CC. They are not suppose to. The retailer would actually be losing money since they only make $3-$5 off your reload fee, but then they have to turn around and get hit 3-5% from your CC company for the transaction fee. I have found a couple of local gas stations where they are stupid enough to let me use my CC to reload my pre paid cards and buy MP's with it also. I rack up rewards and avoid cash advance fees by doing this, while getting nice bonuses from the sportsbooks!

If you need info on that give them a call. They will explain how it works. They are very good with deposits and withdrawals.

I was wondering about if it works on a wal-mart gift card? I dont think thats what you were referring to since i dont think those come with personalized pin numbers or do they?

if you are talking about n3t-sp3nd prepaid card, no you can not use cc to buy them... you have to pay cash and some places accept DC as form of payment.

You are not suppose to be able to use CC to buy them but like I said earlier, you can find places that do. My local Rite Aid store does and a local gas station does to. Like I said, they are losing money by doing this. They are just stupid.

I don't think the Wal-Mart cards do. You are talking about the ones you pay $3 for, right? I never bought one of them because it looks like they don't.

Send me a PM and I can tell you which ones do. (but you probably can't use your CC to buy them unless you find a dumb place that will do it.)

Joe, I trust that’s a yes they will accept NS. Just got mine today. Will have to activate and get this puppy loaded. Want to be ready for MLB. Thanks for the Rite-Aid hint. You’d think they would have company wide policy against that.

FYI BJ accepting NS only with established customers. I’m new so they wouldn’t accept over the phone. I need to fedex a MO to get started. Hope that NS can be used after this initial deposit.
