    UEFA Cup Oct 23
    St. Etienne vs. FC Copenhagen
This one is a no-brainer. Copenhagen maintains a 100% record in the Dannish league, which isn't any worse than what is called the French league. On the flip side, St. Etienne have drawn one and lost 4 of their L5 road games in the French league. Look for this pattern to repeat itself here. I'd go with a 3-1 win for Copenhagen.
    Verdict: Copenhagen +125

    Ajax vs. Aston Villa
There's no doubt as to which team has the better offense right now. Villa has one of the most in-form offenses in the Premiership right now. Add that to their home advantage here and they become an easy pick.
Cons: There may be too much money on Villa which might push this one to a draw.
    Verdict: Aston Villa -117

    Feyenoord vs. Nancy
Nancy is 16th in the French league and have only won one game in their L5 league home games. The rest have been draws. Feyenoord are 15th in the Netherlands league and have lost all their L3 league road games. Nancy has a home scoring rate of 0.60/game while Feyenoord has a similar scoring rate on the road: 0.67/game.
We may argue that Nancy have the home advantage but that wouldn't count much for a team that's struggling offensively.
    Verdict: draw +225

Deportivo La Coruna vs. CSKA Moscow
This is one game the public would expect CSKA to win. CSKA are 5-0-0 in their L5 while Deportivo are 1-1-3 in their L5. It's typical for Russian teams to screw things up on an occasion such as this. Look forward to a 1-1 draw.
    Verdict: draw +220

      Ryan,

Udinese and Tottenham appear to be 2 teams headed in opposite directions right now. And there lies my fear. Ramos and Tottenham appear to do well in cup games even when their league form is in tatters. The UEFA Cup game may provide one lucky break once more for Tottenham. On paper, Udinese is the play, but it is pass for me. Also remember that this same Udinese lost at home to Borrusia Dortmund a few weeks ago when the whole world expected them to win. The thing with Udinese is that they have this annoying tendency of conceding in bunches and Tottenham, despite their poor form, have been scoring.

These are would also be good picks:

          Nancy (vs. Feyenoord)
Club Brugge vs. Rosenborg Over 2.5
          PSG +415 (vs. Shalke 04)

I also did CSKA. I did PSG +415 since Shalke hasn't been great of recent and PSG have boosted their squad lately.

                My other plays now are:
                Copenhagen
                Benfica
                Dynamo Zagreb
                Olympiakos Pireus

The "epidemic" of home wins in today's UEFA Cup games has me thinking twice about playing road dogs. Otherwise, I'm hopeful, Benfica and Olympiakos Pireus should be able to overcome their hosts tonight at a good price.

But my fear for Arsenal was that Gallas and Toure weren't in the lineup. Of course, Fenerbahce are a ghost of their former self following the sale of their pointman, Mateja Kezman and the departure of their Brazilian coach. I think they've now won only 2 in 9, if I'm right.

Aston Villa fans, John Carew has been ruled out of the lineup. That's no good news.

Hertha Berlin deserve not to be in the UEFA Cup. They sneaked into the UEFA Cup through the back door on the premise of their performance in something called Intertoto Cup, which is rubbish. They've only managed one win in 4 at home and that was against very mediocre opposition. I see Benfica telling them the "truth" today.
Final note and trend: Two German teams hardly win in Europe on the same day. Now that Hamburg has posted a win, trust Hertha to end up on the reverse.

Sorry Ryan. I mistook Benfica for Copenhagen. Anyways, I don't see St. Etienne's road form as being much of an obstacle to a Copenhagen win. My prediction for that game is 3-1 to Copenhagen and Etienne have scored their only goal of the game.

Another misleading pick. Truly, Copenhagen sucks.

thats all im saying. just looking at league records isnt accurate. french league is better than danish. danish sucks. dutch is good.

now, aston is my play of the day but i won moscow and udi already

portsmouth already losing but aston was my 5 unite play
