Russia vs. Spain and Greece vs. Sweden
So far my record is 5-1 betting the euro, the only loss for me was France.

My selection is the OVER 2.5 +145 for the Russia/Spain game, the reason is that both teams like to open it up and lately the young russian stars have been on fire when getting opportunities close to goal, I wouldn't be surprised if russia beat spain 2-1 or 3-2. This will be a fun game to watch with more than a few goals.

The 2nd game I love Greece on the ML +185, Cmon people Greece are the defending European champions and man they can play some defense and Sweden hasn't played high level teams like the Greeks have. Look for Gekas to score in the
14th minute as they march on to a 1-0 Victory!!!!!!

I hammered Spain for my biggest 'unit' bet in a long time (to win 4). Of course, it was a mix up on my part and I put a 'to win' 2 unit bet in twice. DOH. I took them on the ML, so I'm covered in event of a tie, though, so that's nice.

Russia is definitly improving and not too bad. I just think if Fernando Torres gets ANY space to work in or around the box, it's going to be a long day for Russia. Spain has been very quiet on who is running the midfield today - I have a felling that Senna will go, but it really doesn't matter - Spain has a really solid midfield with good depth and I like Puyol and company on the backline... Very physical. IMO, former Soviet nations tend to wear down to physical play against their frontlines. Hopefully that trend continues today.

I am a bit nervous, though, as Spain wasn't very sharp versus the US last week in their friendly match.

Good luck. I'm going for Russia +1 goal 1.78/-128..... I could have gone for Russia +1/+1.5 goals 1.60/-167 but I didn't do so cause I dislike betting below odds of 1.65/-153 unless it is a banker's bet.

Russia are without 2 of their best forwards though.....Arshavin (suspended) and Pogrebnyak (injured).

I've been watching Spain for many years in High level competition and they have always choked, I would never bet my money on SPAIN!!!!!!!!

            Torres is the man!

haha yeah, I've been watching Spain for many years also. Spain ARE big game chokers. I saw them choke out of the World Cup in 94 at Foxboro (was it 94 in the US?) vs Italy in the Quarters - they did NOTHING but suck. Torres is a big-game player, though, if given opportunity... GL to those on Russia. Should be a pretty good game (I hope).

anyone have any thoughts on the 2nd half, all i need is one more goal to the bank the OVER. With the unstable weather i don't see how the second half could be scoreless!

Well looks like you should win your Spain ML bet. Most bettors went for Spain today. I think it will be difficult for Russia to come back from 2 goals down. Russia lacked firepower upfront but I'm hoping that Russia would pull a goal back then at least my bet will end in a push.

I didn't bet spain, i bet big on the OVER 2.5. Both teams look very soft on defense. Being down 2 goals the russians will push hard and this should give Spain a chance to score at least 2 more goals. I see Torres getting on the score sheet in the 2nd half.

Spain is really starting to back off... It's going to be tough. With Torres going off, the chances at a long-run goal have decreased. Villa has been all over the place, but he's nowhere near as explosive on the ball. GL on another goal for the over. I just hope Spain's good fortune continues.

Russia had a ton of chances, there could've been a LOT more goals. Just glad I didn't get upset after making a boneheaded mistake betting.

I think the best bet for the Greece/Sweden game is goals UNDER 2.5. I parlayed Spain/Russia OVER 2.5 with Greece/Sweden UNDER 2.5.
It's hard to pick a winner in the Greece/Sweden game. Don't be fooled by Greece being the defending champion. The Greek team in reality doesn't match the defending champion tag. Greece's weapon lies in defense, but their scoring power is eternally questionable. Thanks to defense, their last 6 games ended in 2 wins and 4 draws. I clearly see a goalless first half and I doubt either side will score in the second half, which bodes well for the UNDER. If there's going to be a winner, it'll be a 1-0 win. But I feel more comfortable predicting a scoreless draw. Those who lean on Sweden to win should note that Ibrahamovic isn't 100% and even when fit isn't as profilic for country as he is for club.

What a brutal game so far. Sweden has had a couple of chances - they probably should have a goal. I'm on 'tie' and 'under' so, hopefully it continues to be a snoozefest.
