Every team that Spain faced so far played not to lose meaning they put 6 on defense and 4 on midfield trying to contain them. Germany is playing an open style of soccer which will leave room for Spain to play their passing game which is superb.

Spain will dominate ball possession against Germany. The German D thrives with their strength and aggressiveness. They will get antsy, Spain will be patient with the ball and Germany is a very young team they will make a couple of mistakes as the game goes on and Spain's vets will make them pay.

Ballack vs Muller (Muller will not play vs Spain and I doubt his replacement is better than Ballack)
Frings & Hitzlsperger vs Ozil & Khedira (Ozil is better than Hitzlsperger but Frings is better defender than Khedira)
Metzelder vs Boateng (Boateng is faster but can he stop Villa and Torres?)

I see more youth in the midfield for Germany but the experience of Ballack and Frings in a game where Germany must focus on defense will be greatly missed.

Main difference to me is that Germany will be playing a well organized defensive team here that also dominates possession offensively. Germany didn't have to be patient against England or Argentina because both played right into the style the Germans like to play. They'll have to play differently against Spain. This is going to be a one goal match in my opinion as far as the differential. I don't see either team "crushing" the other. Not sure who I like yet, but it's definitely not going to be a blowout.

I don't mislead anyone to go with me, but it's my point of view, and I bet on Germany to win this game in reg. time. I really like German style, but I know the good player is suspended.

I would say at this point of the tournament there will be no crushing or destroying of anyone. Teams will be playing it very close to the vest as to not make any mistakes. These type of matches are normally defensive in nature, and I don't expect any different this time around. Clearly the Dutch have got a big advantage talent wise going into the game. With Suarez missing the Dutch will try and collapse on Forlan which begs the question how will Uruguay score?

On the other contest, Germany is on a roll and Loeb knows how to prepare his team. Rumor has it Spain is looking to bench Torres which won't go well with Fernando or team unity. Some pump Casillas as one of the great goalkeepers, I think he makes some bad mistakes in key situations. Personally I think Germany wins this.

Khedira btw is a much more offensive threat than Frings was plus muller can be replaced by Marko Marin or Cacua both have the equal or more pace than Muller and Cacau is a good finisher as well. Schweinsteiger is also playing in a different position on the midfield and he has been one of the best midfielders of this world cup along with Sneijder

Germany will not win the WC. They had two good results against two teams that lacked in team concept. Both played too many man before the ball, and after the England example, this was especially stupid by Maradona, although only in the last half hour of the game when Argentina lost their patience. Germany will not have that advantage over either Spain or Holland. The players on both of those teams have far more international experience than the young Germans. It will show.

I'm just saying this team is about the same as 2008. Same coach, same players, same system. The main weapons like Friedrich, Metzesacker, Lahm in defense and Schweinsteger and Podolski in midfield and Klose in offense are still there. There are a few new young players but the veterans of the 2008 team are still there. Spain did not have Villa in that game and completely shut out the German midfield and offense. Spain lost once in the last 50 games in a game they dominated vs Switzerland. Well Christmas doesn't come twice in two weeks.
