    2025 FIFA Club World Cup

This upcoming weekend the FIFA experiment begins, the quest for an oversized gold paperweight that would fit in pretty well at Mara Lago. Gianni Infantino's name is already engraved on it not once, but twice. We are witness to a new age states one engraving. The jury is still out at how successful the tournament is going to be but that is not my problem. I'm here trying to make a few bucks in the offseason. First unlike the world cup where the motivation is for every team taking part the club world cup is sweetened with tons of cash from FIFA to try to make this a "thing" going forward. All teams outside of UEFA will take this seriously not just for the money but to showcase their players and teams on a world stage. Only 4 teams that already have boat loads of money will view this as a nice to have trophy and those are coincidently also the 4 favorites; Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and PSG. That leaves the other 8 teams from within UEFA that will care about the money and have a legit chance at winning.

    The easiest path to the Quarter finals in my opinion is in group F and Dortmund are the rightful favorites. If they win their group they will also avoid another UEFA side in Group E, unless they meet Inter Milan who are an old team that played all the way to the end losing the Champions League Final and losing out to Napoli domestically on the final weekend. As I truly think Inter is "gassed" and will be my fade material in this competition. That being said my first future bet is;

    2. Top goal scorer at the Club World Cup - Serhou Guirassy @ 17.00/+1600 (1u) Unibet

Since 2023 in 58 appearances for Stuttgart and now for Dortmund, Guirassy has scored 49 goals. He along with Barcelona's Rapinha was joint top goal scorer in this past Champions League with 13.

      Inter Miami v Al Ahly

On a neutral I would have the Egyptian side as clear favorites. Playing in Miami versus the face of the league in Leo Messi I'm laying off on a side or total here. FIFA went to great lengths in including Inter Miami and with two tougher opponents on tap its must win. In an odd choice for an opening match they appointed Iranian referee Alireza Faghani from the A league in Australia. Will he tow the FIFA line? In case there are weird things I'm playing 2 props to start.

        Bayern Munich v Auckland City

This game is being played in Cincinnati at noon local time when its going to be hot and humid. I'm hoping for a sluggish start by the clear favorites.

          PSG v Atletico Madrid

These sides met in the UEFA Champions league in Paris this season back in November with Atletico winning 2-1. PSG won what they always wanted which was the Champions league. I had this game as a draw so giving me even money on the double chance here is great value.

            Palmeiras v Porto

I'll give a slight edge to Porto on quality but negate the fact that Porto have ended the season and only played 2 friendlies since May 17. Palmeiras since then have played 5 league and cup games. Form wise The Brazil side has the edge, but since both have winnable last 2 games I think this ends level.

                Botafogo v Seattle

Seattle have home field advantage here where they only lost one game this calendar year, they however have struggled to score lately only 5 goals in the past 6 games. Botafogo have also had 4 of their past 5 go under but its on the road where they just cant score. 14 of the past 15 away games for Botafogo have gone under 2.5 and in all those 15 away games Botafogo only scored 5 goals.

                    LAFC v Chelsea

The game is played in Atlanta which does not give LAFC any advantage. I would guess the majority of the fans will be backing Chelsea. They should control most of the possession and win out. I give them a 50% chance of recording a shutout so +120 is a little bit of value.

                      Benfica v Boca Juniors

The game is played in Miami its going to be very hot and humid in the full sun kick off time. Form wise in 90 minutes the last 3 games for both sides all have ended under 2.5 goals.

                        Flamengo v Tunis

Outside of Auckland I have Tunis rated 2nd worse in the whole competition. I expect them to park the bus versus a far superior Brazil side. Flamengo are in season form undefeated in the last 7 matches 5 of which were shutouts. Tunis are at the end of their season only having played a few cup games.
