    Who loves to win??!!!
Hey fellas, my name is Jack and I hail from the great Boston, MA. I'm an advertising editor by day, and a balls-to-the-wall punter by night. I recently found this site and I must admit I'm intrigued. I used to gamble on any sport, any time, any amount---a true degenerate...but with age comes wisdom and I have scaled it back quite a bit and only concentrate on my strengths these days. With a whole lot of hard work and patience, this act of temperance has brought far-ranging success and confidence. My plays basically consist of soccer, soccer, and more soccer---but I'll play anything if the numbers crunch favorably and there is value present. If I need a quick fix and some instant gratification, I call on my second-favorite avenue of chance...poker!!! I have been sizing myself up against prominent SBR cappers like Kara, EP and Turk, and I am sure that we can work together and bring each other even more good fortune. Soccer is a crazy sport--one in which I admittedly had zero interest and even less knowledge just a few short years ago--but it's a sport that can be had!!! But enough about me...I'll let my plays do the talking from here on out, and I wish everyone the best of luck going forward! Cheers,
    JD

Welcome to the forum. I only bet on Soccer or Hockey. Why not just bet the things you do good at?

Well here we go, my virgin play on SBR. You only get one, so let's storm out of the gate with a W!!!

The game is Columbus Crew vs Real Salt Lake, the second leg of their MLS playoff matchup. Real shocked the Crew on Halloween night with a 1-0 victory, but the Crew's coach inexplicably left Schelotto and Moreno out of the proceedings. I realize they were playing for a scoreless draw and looking forward to winning the series at home tonight, but it's almost never sound strategy to keep your two most influential offensive players out of the lineup when your offense needs a serious shot in the arm. While Schelotto and Moreno will be back in the lineup tonight, Columbus will have their hands full against a RSL side brimming with confidence and needing only a draw to advance to the next round of the playoffs or a one-goal loss for extra time and potential PKs to decide it. Either scenario seems improbable against a Crew outift that lost only 2 games at home all year, but certainly not impossible.

I am concentrating on goals in this one. Columbus has scored one goal (1!!!) in its past five games, including losing 4 out of its last 5 games by identical 1-0 scorelines. Both teams will be playing cautiously, as any slip-ups in the back will mean a quick end to the season for either side. I expect a very calculated game from the outset, and Real's 2-11-2 record as a visitor suggests that they may pack it in and hope for the same type of game as the first leg. I simply can't see 3 goals being scored in this one, even with the aforementioned Crew players back in the lineup. A 1-0 score in favor of Columbus seems the most likely scenario, and if they can nip another they will advance to the next round of the playoffs. Odds of -125 for under 2.5 seem fairly decent, and I will jump on this with medium stakes. Sorry for the writeup being so close to the game's start, but good luck if you hop on!!

Bummer man. I avoid the MLS like the plague. The salary cap rules allow for a lot more parity in the league. It makes it harder to cap when so many of the team are so evenly matched. This is evident in the high draw rate in this league. I havent checked lately but last i calculated a draw rate in the 30% range. I guess thats good if you bet a lot of draws. I never do. Welcome to the forum man. GL this weekend.
